RW CMH base??
 

Anyone know how soon the CMH base will be opening for RW?? I start training on the 17th and was wondering if it would be open when I get out so I could hopefully get based there. What is the possibility of holding a line if this is open right out of training (assuming I get out of training ok)?? Any new hires trying to get CMH out of training?? Thanks in advance.

it will probably be open by the time you are out of training, you will not be assigned a base till the end anyways. holding a line can be anywhere from right away to over a year, depending on how senior the base goes. I dont think it will take more than 2-3 if that long to hold a line there once it opens. ill be in class with ya on the 17th(for the left seat)

It won't take you a year to get a line in any RW base.

CMH only had 5 current FOs bid for close to 40 slots, so if you're in the inital cadre to get assigned CMH you might never sit reserve.

The effective date of the award was May 1st. I hope it doesn't open a single day before that.

According to Gary, it will. Most likely in Feb.

Why don't you want it to open?

I guess I should rephrase, it can open whenever it wants as long as no "new" RW captains go in there before May 1st.
