Helpful websites for jumpseaters?
 

I’m trying to jumpseat down to Florida in a few days and was wondering if there was any way to check loads for airlines other than the one you work for. In this case, I’m flying on Delta. Normally when I’m flying on my airline, I can call a 1800 number and get the exact loads including nonrevs who are ahead of me. If I’m trying to jumpseat on another airline, I usually check Expedia, but that never seems to give too accurate of an idea of what’s open.

Is there a website somewhere for pilots that gives a better idea of you’re chances of getting on a flight?

Unfortunatley I don't think there is any way of checking, something about companies not wanting that info out there for employees of competitors to see. It's a gamble with jumpseating, I usually go onto the company's website and see if it'll let me buy a ticket...if so I assume there's at least one open seat. I think if you call the numbers listed on the ALPA jumpseating page sometimes if the person is in a good mood they can say what your chances are, just not specifically what the loads look like. Not too helpful but that is the jumpseating way as far as I know.

We should get a list of gate agents at different airlines to check loads for XCM's. If ever going certain red-tailed airplanes, let me know. ;)

If you're doing Delta into MCO, my extensive experience has been "crapshoot" at best. If you can use SWA instead...do it. They do MCO, FLL, RSW, JAX, PBI, and TPA. I recommend them because they're the only airline that's never left me behind and they're the easiest to jumpseat on. Good luck.
