Seaborne Airlines

Does anyone know how much they pay FO's and El Capiton's? I have always wondered, but haven't been able to dig up any info, even with the search function. Thanks.

For anyone that cares to know, I found out some info for everyone:

1.) F/O $27,803/year or $2,476/mo Captain $57,424 or $4,785.33/mo guaranteed

2) Upgrade is based on performance and skill, not on hours or seniority

3) Full health, dental, prescription, life and A D & D for employee paid by the company. Dependent coverage is the responsibility of the employee. Some flight benefits, 401K with discretionary match by company, two weeks paid vacation.

I'm impressed with how much they pay for the size of aircraft. Granted, I know living down in the Caribbean isn't too terrible cheap. Ther beni's seem good too...AND...they aren't upgrading people just because they hit the magic number. That impressed me the most.

Does anyone know of similar airlines in the Caribbean or any other Islands..?

I know Tradewinds flies Caravans in between St. Barth's and San Juan and a few other places I believe during the winter months. Then during the summer, you fly out of Oxford, CT. It's a 6 month's here, 6 month's there kind of deal.

You could try Maldivian Air Taxi or Trans Maldivian Airways in the Maldives (if you don't mind living in the middle of the Indian Ocean). It looks like paradise to me.

Thanks for digging that up Lax. I'm still mulling over getting my CAMES and throwing them an app. What I've always wondered, though, is how time there fits into a long-term aviation career if floats aren't the ultimate goal. After, say, five or six years at Seaborne are you still going to have to take the regional/135 step, or could you hop directly to majors/LCC/big freight?

Well, I would say that if you are going to transition back into flying 'land aircraft' after flying VFR Day-type flying, you might have to take an intermediate step like you said, just to get your currency back up.

The Seaborne guys seemed cool when I was down there. Nice deal. If your really are just dying to get to an island down there, then there is plenty of places always looking for a pilot, that would humor the time building pilot.

Cape air. Cessna 402s
Tradewind. Caravans, PC12s
Vieques Air Link. Caravans, Islanders, Tri-Islanders
Fly BVI. Misc. broke down fleet
Air America. Islanders
Air Sunshine. Cessna 402s
Air Tahoma. Convairs
Four Star. DC3s
PRAMS. Caravans, 1900
Bolke Int. Charter
Air Flamenco. Islanders to Culebra.

Theres so many places down there, not to mention the 50$ first class medicals. Just bum around for a week, if you cant get a job, I dont know what to tell you.

As far as the transition deal, probably true, but its a job you stay at, its not for turbine time, Its a good job. All day time flying. The did practice the ILS in STX when I was there, to a missed of course.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking if you did that job you would just stay and be a island bum. Heck, you'd probably get to used to wearing khaki shorts and tennis shoes to work.:D
