Piston Type Ratings...do they help???

Hi, I'm new to the site and have a few questions for the pro's. Does holding a large piston type rating carry any weight when going for a first 121 job?

Thanks

just curious........what type rating do you hold for a piston over 12,500 lbs? A DC3?

Convairs are popular.

I think any real pilot would respect a piston type rating. I wish I had one.

I sure HOPE so.

But of course you can just a TP to it and call it good right?

It's a type...absolutely! And I'm sure the majority of us here are a bit envious, as your interviewers are sure to be as well :-P

I think most/all still in service are 580s or other TP versions

There are still quite a few 240s and 340s dumping oil on cargo ramps in the US.

How and where did you get a B-25 and B-17 type rating? You crash in one of those WW2 glacier airplanes and just get thawed out or something?
