Colgan Hiring ex Big Sky Pilots
So I got this email recently from the Big Sky HR dept...
Hello,
I wanted to pass along another job opportunity. Colgan Air is interested
in hiring pilots from Big Sky, including those of you that were going to
be in our new hire class. Include in your cover letter that you were hired
for the Jan. 7 class and that you are referred by Stig Hovind.
Thanks and have a good day,
Seems like Colgan is getting really desperate. Any takers?

About 125 of us (CommutAir) were furloughed in August 2001. They had a job fair for us where a lot of the regionals came to recruit, with on the spot interviews. TSA offered all of our furloughs jobs without interviews. We must be on 6 year hiring cycle (hopefully this last longer than back in '01).

It could be a good gig for the big sky guys. The Beech captains who never made it to 1000 have a great chance of being saab captains and will get a different experience and still continue to add the turbine pic so they dont have to backtrack with the exception of seniority and sitting through another training evolution. Even the Beech FOs who did not upgrade yet but have a considerable amount of time can probably walk off the street as captains.

Call it desperation if you wish but I am just glad to see someone helping those guys out. Not the best X-mas suprise you know...Tis the season right?
I hope all the Big Sky guys find a warm home this winter.

I feel the same way. I was walking through STL to get on SW and saw the bigsky sign and felt really bad for those guys. I'm glad they can get a new home without delay.
