ASA CVG Base Rumors

I've heard from several people (all who would probably be biased in favor of ASA) say that they have heard that ASA is going to open a CVG base and taking some flying from Comair to provide for this. Anyone heard this from a credible source?

I've also heard Delta is selling Comair after the beginning of the year? Any fact to this?

I've heard this from nobody that would be considered credible as far as I'm conserned. Anyone have any insight?

Rumors rumors rumors that's all they are right now. Might happen, might not; sit back, relax and enjoy the ride until things happen.

ASA already took over some flying from Comair. Seem's like CVG is already a small base for ASA:rolleyes:

Great advice! Nothings final until it's in the history books but it does seem likely based upon the amount of CVG flying they currenty have. As for more future flying, if anything happens in CVG it will be at Comair's expense, good luck guys! I hope that you all can keep the shirts on your backs.

And remember that Texas was CRJ country for ASA.
I promise that many things will change and then change again.

I would hardly say that ASA has taken over Comair flying. I remeber back in the day on the north side of the A concourse, it was all ASA airplanes before Chautauqua moved in. If anything, ASA's CVG flying has actually shrunk. If anyone has taken flying from us, it's Chautauqua. But yes, things are always changing. Since I've been here, I've heard we're opening DFW, ATL and now BOS crew bases. None have happened.

DAL has been trying to sell COMAIR for quite some time...but nobodies buying.

I think Delta has been pondering selling us or spinning us off as an IPO for quite some time, but I don't think we're officially for sale yet. That's probably why nobody's buying us. Personally, I don't think Delta will sell us (unless the price is right, of course). I think they'll hold onto us for whipsaw purposes and also they can directly control some of their regional lift by keeping us. If they IPO us, they can buy a majority stake in the company and still somewhat directly control regional lift.

I could be wrong. It has been known to happen from time to time.

We didnt take any flying....Delta gave it to us! Neither here nor there!

Hmmm...let's see:

ASA - ATL & CVG
Comair - ATL & CVG

Both are Delta Connection carriers and exclusively fly the CRJ's. I think it's doable and wouldn't mind seeing it come to fruition. JMO though.

Btw, what does IPO mean?
