ASA Commuting
I know commuting is bad. But is it possible to do in ATL for ASA? Any ASA people please chime in. Thanks.

What city are you wanting to commute from?
|
DTW or DEN not sure yet.
|
I understand you have your reasons; but why would you want to commute from DEN? Hopefully, it's a direct, non-stop flight.
Hope it works out! Blue skies. atp |
I heard something like 60% of ASA pilots commute. I don't know where that figure came from though. There are lots of flights from DEN to ATL, I just counted 22 for tomorrow, and that's only the direct ones. Not all of them are Delta, but you'd have to jumpseat anyway to save $$ because Delta is charging us a small fee now for every leg we use our benefits on. Only ASA flights are free. Jumpseating is always free and works on about every airline.

DEN-ATL is a hard commute. A lot of pilots live out there. No idea on DTW.
I commute from TPA. Usually it's ok, but sometimes it sucks bad. ASA has a commuter clause now, so that might help things although you still have to plan ahead. |
I commute from SAN and it's been good. DTW though is one of the largest Delta bases / AA bases so there are quite a lot of people that also do that commute. =) I've been doing it for a year now by the way.

What exactly does the "commuter clause" say? I mean does it have specific parameters that YOU have to meet in order to be covered if you miss a flight due to delays/full flights/ect? (Specifically ASA's since I am looking at applying with them, but want to commute from Indianapolis)

ATRsteve, the only time I have ever had to stand and watch a plane push back that I listed for was TPA-ATL-Air Tran. It looks like it wouldn't be too bad with Delta and Air Tran flying that route though.

DTW is a Delta/AA base?? Thought it was NWA..
