Delta to sell Comair

well, maybe next quarter...! ;)

In addition, that same article might add more fuel to the "United merger" rumor, and put secondary emphasis on the "NWA merger" rumor since they explicitly state DAL is considering a buyout of UAL.

If DAL bought UAL, they could boot Mesa and GoJet outta ORD and give that flying to Comair...not sure if that would happen, but it would be nice to see Comair have something good happen to them.

"NEW YORK, Jan 6 (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines (DAL.N: Quote, Profile, Research) has put on hold plans to sell its Comair regional jet service division while it explores a possible merger with United Airlines (UAUA.O: Quote, Profile, Research) or another rival, the Financial Times reported on Sunday."

Or give it to SkyWest :D

I personally think Skywest, ASA, and Comair should form sports teams and play olympic-scale tournaments to determine who gets what flying from DAL. Most of the players selected would probably be trprop guys from Skywest and ASA, due to the higher usage of arm muscles required to actually handfly. Meanwhile, CRJ drivers with their superior button-pushing, knob-turning, and FMS programming skills would excel at running complicated plays and setting up 2 point conversions...and they could also set up a very complicated communications system to link up the coach, the FA cheerleading squad, the maintenance crews, and the QB. We could autotune the coach's headset to the helmet of whatever player had the ball.

Love my TITAN. When my daughter got married, I painted "just married" on the back window and chained a couple of F150's to the back bumper for her drag along on the way to her honeymoon...

The Chow 01-08-2008 09:20 AM

Oh I DON'T THINK SO!

Now if you want to say you chained a few RJ's to the bumper that's fine. But F150's

Thats awesome, lol. I like both the Titan and Tundra, at least 100% of them are made here in the USA. Can't say that about the F150, more and more are made in mexico every year...

poor ford fans:

F150 max towing capacity: 6400 lbs

Titan max towing capacity: 9500 lbs

plus the f150 is overpriced!

I heard that DAL came out and said they are not in the process of selling Comair at this time. I've also heard that even if Delta wanted to, there were no interesting buyers. I personally don't think it is a matter of if, just a matter of when and now probably won't be the time. But I don't think Delta would let Comair go for chump change. They definitely would make sure they get as much as they can squeeze....

they aren't going to sell us right now....just take away all our flying....good thing we took that pay cut.....so delta wouldn't reduce our flying too much and we would stay "competitive".....??

Unused RJs may be easier to find then f-150s, There shoulb be about 14 parked

The Chow 01-10-2008 07:08 AM

Now I don't know which Tundra or Titan you have, but I love my F150. Bought and paid for.....Now if I could afford the gas I would be in Heaven.

Speedbird172 01-10-2008 09:21 AM

I might be wrong but Delta can only reduce our flying to a certain amount if I remember from that contract right? If so we should still be in decent shape.

TristarJS30 01-10-2008 09:31 AM

Well according to the memo, we will only have eighty six (86) 50 seaters at the end of 2008. Right now, APC lists us as having 102 (if you read the info up top about once the 90's arrive).
