CHQ to be spun off??

I'm not trying to get flamed or start WWIII, but I've heard from a few people at CHQ that word around there is Bedford is considering spinning off CHQ. Anyone care to validate that rumor? What effect would this have on hiring, etc. if it were the case?

This is the first time I heard of this and I work for CHQ. I would believe that we have a better chance of buy Frontier instead.

NOTE: I think we have a snowball's chance in hell of buying Frontier.

Yeah i heard this. I also heard that Delta wants to spin off its domestic flying on the md-88's and focus only on international flying.

Last I heard was that Shuttle America was going to be expanding service with daily flights to the ISS. The newly branded Shuttle Galactic would offer 3 daily round trips (2 on Saturdays) to the ISS with first and coach class seating.

It wouldn't surprise me since Bedford has publically expressed his lack of interest in anything less than 70 seats.

but this would also mean dropping a couple of codeshares that BB wants us to work for; Continental & AA

his reasoning for taking the CAL contract was to get a foot in the door so he can get 70+ seaters flying for them. and AA is one of our better paying gigs.
plus we'd then have to retrain at least 800 pilots all at once.

BB is too smart a businessman to incur such a cost for no real benefit

CHQ isn't going anywhere. There's no reason to sell and the benefits of having the ticket is huge.

what code share is that under? or will that be part of our branded flying which includes the 190's, airbusses, 757's, and 747's.

I was in recurrent last week and heard the exact same thing. It was from "someone who knows."

Heh heh heh. I'm guessing it'll be a codeshare agreement with Sir Branson's Virgin Galactic? I'm not sure what equipment they will be taking up there. Hopefully there will be inflight entertainment though...it can be an awefully long flight at times
