ASA/Skywest transfer
I realize that the answer to this question is probably no, but I wanted to ask anyway -- ASA and Skywest are seperate labor groups, but are owned by the same holding company. If I got hired by skywest, could I transfer to ASA after a year (for example), or vice versa? It would seem complicated. I know that skywest is not union represented and ASA is, but I'm not sure if this really matters in this situation (I'm a current airport ops employee and not union represented).
Thanks. |
Yeah that is a no, think of all the pilots who won't stand for anyone to be ahead of their seniority. This is why US Air East and West are at Odds.

As a pilot or FA………..NO! I've heard of a few ASA Mx workers who made the move but I'm not sure about all the details.
Their not just separate labor groups their completely separate companies owned by SKW Inc which is the umbrella company. |

Ah, thanks for clearing that up! I have connections at ASA but want the Skywest domiciles, and commuting blows.

Hired. Ok, you do actually have to get through a little interview, but if you prepare, you'll be fine. MKE and ORD are waiting for you.... where is it you wanted to go? By the way, there are a number of ASA guys (and airplanes) at SKW. |
Negative on the 1000 hours. That will take some time to accumulate.
Roger on everything else. I'm looking for west coast domiciles (family). I've heard of several ASA guys from SLC going to Skywest.. and airplanes too.. Thanks. Hopefully it is that easy. |
If you're on the west coast, go to Mesa for an easy commute, get their free training while they're still in business, and as soon as you click over 800 hours (reduced just for CRJ time), come over here.
It's a well worn path if you can survive Mesa, and Mesa survives long enough. |
