if English is your second language AND you are having trouble like this...please fly in your own country until you speak it proficiently.

His English and spelling are better than a lot of the American-born pilots who frequent this board:D.

How you SEEN some of the spelling and grammar around here?

We is a highly educated pilot group!

man you guys are abunch of smart asses

Airsupport 01-18-2008 05:24 AM

ok i will be the first to answer this poor kids question. lots of regionals are still hiring. skywest just took over more flying for airmidwest so they will need pilots. pinnacle has needed pilots ever since i have been here. mesaba is scraping the bottom of the barrell too for some pilots. some say comair and express jet have slowed down their hiring. all in all if you want a job at the regionals in 2008 you will more than likely be able to get one with little or no problem.

Yea, I was being a smart ass..... my apologies.......

As for hiring, some are..some are not.

Join the fray if you dare. This business can change directions on a dime. The future and what it holds for each company can only be contemplated.

What he said. It may be a little slower, but most are still running classes every month.

AND ALSO I'VE BEEN HEARING ABOUT DO NOT GO TO GOJETS AND I SAW THEY PAY SCALE IS NO THAT BAD COMPARE WITH OTHERS OUT THERE SO WHAT IS THE DEAL WHIT THIS COMPANY???
ILL APPRECIATE SOME IMPUTS
THANK YOU:D:confused:

Also, when looking at payscales make sure you are comparing planes of the same type/number of seats. And a few dollars higher or lower on a payscale isn't what you should look for. Look at work rules to compare. Duty rigs, monthly guarantee, etc.

is this flamebait? and WHY IS YOU YELLING??
VERY LOUD NOISES !!!!!! ...couldnt resist The Anchorman throwback

During the interview at republic, they were projecting, that they were hiring 1000 pilots this year. This doesn't mean that they are going to drop mins. but they are hiring quite a bit. At first I tried to call BS with the age 65 rules and such a big number, but they are getting over 25 aircraft this year and hiring for attrition to the majors.

Riiiight, second language, but already knows the fine art of flame bait....

Come here fishy fishy fishy....

WhiteH2O 01-18-2008 08:23 AM

Looks like hiring is starting to slow down. Nobody really knows what this age 65 thing is going to do, and it looks like some airlines are slowing down hiring until they really see what to expect in the future. There will always be some hiring going on, but I don't expect to see this year as hiring as many people as last. Just my prediction.
