Thanks to all of you for the great advice.....
I should explain my situation a little better.
I'm 40 years old and have had professional jobs, I worked overseas in the steel business and gave it up, currently I'm a flyfishing guide in Idaho.
Flying has been a big part of my life and with this big hiring craze I thought I would give it a shot.

Why only 1 year??? you don't want to be jumping from regional to regional, doesn't look good on the resume. As far as Mesa, I would go there only if the other regionals turn me down......

Flyfishing guide sounds a whole hell of a lot more fun than airline pilot!

p.s. don't go to mesa

I bet it pays better to.

If the west coast is where you belong, I would suggest American Eagle. You could get an interview with your TT/ME time as it stands. They have plenty of mid-west bases to choose from, and even a base out in LAX. Their pay is decent, and their work rules are FAR BETTER then the likes of Mesa, or Great Lakes.

Good luck.

[quote=naley70b;304364]I'm from SLC and I'm at Piedmont.

Personally, i don't think its worth being all the way out here just for the job. While my pay is decent my quality of life is really kind of a bummer. Every time i try to get out to SLC something happens where i can't make it on the flights i want. Boise would only be harder than that. I don't want to nay-say, but i don't believe that going so far away for a job is worth it.

But, Piedmont's pay is good and with the wonders of CASS you can make just about anything work out. Best of luck to you.
[ How did you end up at Piedmont and aside from not being able to make it to SLC are you flying a lot and where are you based ? Thanks ]

[quote=Pokerpilot;304360]Well, you have many options Big Sky, Great Lakes, Skywest, etc if you want to come to the dark side maybe Trans States Airlines. We are trying to fill the Feb class and we have big plans for March. Remember, you will be flying a jet.[How are things at TSA where do the juniors get based? Aside from the usual any complaints? Thanks.
