Just doing some research on these guys, they fly out of kpsm, kbed and kttn. I was wondering if anyone has worked there or had any information on them.

Stay Away. Dubious management, dubious finances, dubious maintenance, union busting, Guilford Railways affiliation, etc. etc. etc. This comes up every few months, do a search and see what you find.

I used to work at one of their bases and never heard anything good about them once. They typically dont keep their pilots any longer than it takes for them to move on. They landed at KBED once and one of the nose wheels fell off and rolled down the runway...seriously

Stay away from them. There is a reason that they only fly the psm, bed, ttn runs...they only have about five pilots left in the company, so they had to give up the other runs.

that's what i was worried about. i got hired by eagle for the Boston base. i just have to graduate first in may. they gave me a 6 month letter of conditional employment, so i can start there in may if i want.

i've been instructing since last march and want to continue to instruct. I was hoping i could do that and fly for clipper (they only fly like 3-4 days a week) but with finishing school and the girlfriend, i need to make money.

If you instructed from last March to May, that's about 14 months of instructing, and if you're busy, maybe about 750-900 hrs for that neck of the woods with New England WX and whatnot. That's plenty of great experience under your belt. If you don't want to stop instructing and keep a couple of students or instrument reviews or BFR's then do so. BUT, flying at Eagle, let's say, will be a full time job, and you'll be learning a whole new skill set, using your valuable instructing experience as the background, with little time for full-time instructing on the side. If you want to make a legitimate go at an airline career and stay close to BOS, the Eagle option is a great way to get started on that path. It's a golden opportunity. Finish School. Go to Eagle.

Is that Boston-Maine Airways we are talking about that fly the loud a$$ Jetstreams?!? I used to see them in TTN.

If you want to instruct and build time look at www.executiveflyers.com you will have absolutely no problem averaging 100+ hours per month. Most months I averaged nearly 130.

before they had the jetstreams they used old united 727's. one of them blew an engine at psm and sent a turbine blade across the airport and into one of the kc135's sitting there. it missed the fuel tank of the 135 by about 6 inches.

well i did my homework on these guy and its a good thing. the union busting thing was no joke...and i don't wanna be tagged like a go jet guy. also in the month of February according to their website, they're only flying 7 days. they called for an interview, and I'm actually going to go just to see what it's like but i will not accept the job. i think eagle is where i'll be going for sure.
