TSA Reserve times
#2
When are you starting? Right now, people are sitting reserve for a few months. With the numbers they're hiring, it will stay that way unless there is a mass exodus or some sort of growth. At worst, it's probably still only about 6-8 months.
I had reserve for just over a month and the class before me last year didn't have any reserve at all for the most part.

I agree, there is a reason for the large classes coming up, every one in the office seems to agree there is a reason, but no one knows what the reason is.
With past history that I have seen, the do not seem to have the gift of foresight, so that leads me to believe they have a deal signed, or about to sign and they have to ramp up to meet not contracts.
I would say right now as of today, reserve time is going to increase with each new class that comes online, I am not expecting to hear anything on the numbers till april at the soonest

it is what you make of it.
You have read the complaints about managment, schedules, contracts, and what ever else.
You make your own choice.
I had heard the same things you are hearing, I knew that going in, and not once have the disappointed me. I made it work for me, and more often than not the pilot group does a good deal in helping me decide not to leave. I would not say that I love it here. I still do not know how much of it that I dislike is from the company, or the 121 world to begin with. Dont know, and I dont let that bother me. I doubt that I am going to stay here forever, but at the same time, in the next year I am not planning any moves.
If you come here with a chip on your shoulder and you always voice your concerns over what is going on, then you are going to make yourself miserable.
Postive attitude can carry you through alot
Just my thoughts

I look at it the same way you do, I have a positive attitude about all of it.
However with everyone hiring with about the same time I try to find the small things that might make a difference.
Some are a lot worse than others and having never worked the 121 route it's hard to judge.
Your general attitude is the answer I was looking for ie; not the best ever but workable.
Thanks for the input.

Thers is a "REAL" possibility that you find yourself on the street after the "ramping up" phase is found to be not needed when the supposed reason disappears.
Plenty of better companys will hire with your times, do some more research.

heard a rumor about the "ramping up" but, i'll believe it when i call gear up in it....As far as them adding pilots because something is signed, you obviously don't know the history, as they added tons and tons of pilots in early 06' only to furlough them in summer 06' when the contract that they thought was signed by TSA, turned out to be signed by another airline....They need to invest in glasses to read the handwriting.
