121 Dequal
I have a situation where I am currently on medical leave and at the end of this month, I will have used up my grace period to have completed my 6 month LOFT/PC. However, it is possible that next month, I will be able to get off LOA.
My question is when I dequal in 121, what exactly do I have to do in order to get requalified? Do I have to go through Systems, Gen Ops, Cpts, Sims, IOE like I did when I was a new-hire? Or is the process simpler than that - for instance, just taking a PC before going back on the line? Or is the requalification process dependent on the company (ASA for instance) and/or aircraft? Thanks |

Thanks You just have to go tru Recurrent and take a Check Ride LOE.. remember its a 121 Checkride so everything is Fair Game, if you dont think you are ready for a Check Ride DONT TAKE it... Good Luck |
You should not have to repeat the whole training program until after one year of not flying (I think).
At a minimum you would a PC, and maybe recurrent ground if you have gone over a year on that. These are 121 requirements, the company might require more. In my experience with military leave, they will hopefully give you one or two "warm up" sim sessions before throwing you in for a PC...but it's not legally required. |
I believe you are talking about a 6 month PC if I read your post correct. Not sure how you guys do it but this is how GLA does it. No ground for a 6 month PC to be covered, only for a 1 year PC. This is if you are gone for less than 1 year. After that, they make you do ground and flight training no matter what kind of check it was for. For the 6 month, PROBABLY all you can expect is a small amount of requalification training in the sim if you go past your grace period...no big deal. However, you guys may have different training reqs.
