Anybody know my chances for getting FO on the jet? Or, will I go straight into the Bro?

Also, How's commuting out of Rapid City, SD?

Times are great as far as getting hired. As far as aircraft is concerned it really is based on need and right now we need Bro guys more than jet FO's. As far as the commute out of KRAP it should be pretty easy. Every time I fly Rapid the loads are decent and no one in the jumpseat. If you get the Bro just come over to the jet in a year. I am not saying there is no chance at all you get the jet but we are slowing down on Jet new hires for a while.

Ryan, you need a few more posts so I can PM you, man. I commute out of Rapid as well, where do you live?

So far, in six months with the company there has only been one time where I had to go "Plan B" on the commute and I still ended up getting to FAT in time. Denver would be a great base, due to Frontier, Mesa, and SkyWest all doing 3 flights a day between DIA and RAP. Delta has really cut down on SkyW's SLC flights, when I started they were doing four or five flights a day, now they're down to two, so that makes things a little tougher if you're going through there.

Definitely get your resume in!

Yeah those RAP flights slow down in the winter and should pick back up in the summer. I guess no one goes to Mount Rushmore in the middle of the winter. Can you blame them? :D

If you define "really" as 600 hours out of the 22,877 block hours SLC flys; that's not much when you have almost 800 pilots in domicile and it's off peak season.

Thanks

Alright guys, I appreciate the help and info. I am still hopeful to get the CRJ right away, but I guess I'm always on the positive side of things. Currently living just south of the hospital in Rapid but moving out soon.

Thanks again,
Ryan

He was talking about SLC-RAP flights, not our general SLC based flying.

Yeah, sorry, I should have worded that differently. I didn't mean that SLC flying overall was cut a bunch, just the RAP trips. I got spoiled for a couple months using the Delta side to get home, but now that they just have the 2 flights a day it's usually quicker to go through DEN.

Misunderstood, good day.

Why are you still in FAT? Why not come to SLC and make it a one leg ride to work?
