Regionals at PHL
I have 650 TT and 250 ME. I live in Philadelphia and am married with 3 kids. I'm 39 years old and from what I've seen, now would be a time where i could possibly get considered by a regional.
I haven't flown much at all in the last couple of years. I have tons of questions...here are some....I was hoping that some of you may be able to offer some insight : > Would I get considered after not having flown much in the last couple of years ? > Should I consider a bridge program? > What would be the regional carriers where I could be based in PHL or nearby ? Thank you ! Your time and experiences shared are much appreciated. |
I know Air Wisconsin has a base there, and Piedmont is pretty big there but does'nt have a base in PHL instead Harrisburg is a base close by. Think thats it. Good Luck

AWAC's biggest base is Philly. If hired, you shouldn't have any trouble getting it right out of initial. However, I believe your times are close to their mins. You weren't really that specific on how much you have flown recently, but I know they like to see a fair amount of flying in the last year, especially the low time guys. Send them a resume... what have you got to lose? Whisky is a good regional with pay that's better than most and a decient contract. Not to say we don't have our problems, but I'd say there are a lot worse out there.

I think you should take care of your family with a good paying job unless the wife brings home some good coin. I don't see how anyone in your situation could afford to start as a regional new hire. If you have an inheritance or something like that then maybe...but single new hires with little to no responsibility have a hard time making ends meet.
