Ae interview attire

Does Eagle tell you to dress a certain way on the second day? What is the general attire on both days? Mostly suits?

utedrummer 02-01-2008 03:21 PM

you talking interview 2nd day or class 2nd day?

interview 2nd day is all medical and business casual
class 2nd day is jeans and "nice" shirts

The Juice 02-01-2008 03:42 PM

Red velvet pimp suit, lots of Gold...like a Mr. T starter set if you know what I mean. Oh, and walk with a limp.

BZNpilot248 02-01-2008 04:28 PM

do they really have a 2 day interview process?? Seems a bit excessive if you ask me.

yeah, day 1 is testing, hr, tech and sims. if you make it through all that you come back on day 2 for cog test and medical (cog may have been taken out in the last few months). then they tell you to go home a wait for a week or more for the CA board to review your interview and then you get a call if they think youre worthy of their 8 year upgrade.:D

Yeah, the cog and written have both been discontinued. Thank God, because the day is already long enough with just sim, hr, and tech! Once through the sim portion, if you hold a class1 medical you're pretty much "golden":p, unless you committed a felony or failed a 121 check ride and tried to hide it from them.

i wore the old power suit the first day (black suit and red tie) and on the second day i wore a pair of khaki dress pants, dress shoes and a polo shirt.

On Autopilot 02-02-2008 07:40 AM

2nd day attire is business casual. No written test or cog. Yea the upgrade is long right now, but look at it this way, 700+ captains submitted thier retirement papers, and we are now coming up on the hiring gap for 4 years senoirity numbers, expect a dramatic drop in upgrade times. Cheers!!

What do you mean by this? Are you referring to AA. I think they only got 170. And since AA has had the foresight of a goldfish with regards to pilot staffing levels, I don't see this making a huge increase in recall class sizes. I think AA will just cancel more flights.

if i hear one more mention of the "power tie" im going to go postal.......
"hey man, nice tie you got there....now why is your suit wrinkled, not tailored properly and your shoes are scuffed and dull?" interview attire is 5 part puzzle...the tie is only step 1

That's if you CAN upgrade. Someone I talked to said it might go down to 4 or 5 years, I'll believe it when I see it.

Theres word on the street of a new TA which should help fix that. Bonuses for senior captains to leave and pay cap at 10 years for those who stay. The union guys arent denying this.

American will speed up recalls because of early retirements last month, but right now the training department is the bottleneck. I imagine that will change once enough flights are cancelled.

There arent enough FOs to replace the upgrades, so that is the main problem, and why Eagle is hiring like crazy even though there is talk of reduced flying from the divestiture.

A clown suit has been known to work.

RJ Pilot 02-04-2008 10:41 AM
