Erj Hard Landing?
 

Hi guys, I am new here, I was searching the accident data bases and found one on an ERJ 145 that landed hard in Roanoke in nov of 2001. I think I had a friend who dated this captian back when I was in Embry. She went up the ladder pretty quick if I recall and was a right seat 1900 and went right to a left seater on the ERJ. Anyone remeber this event??

Anyway

I am an IA mechanic who has finally bought a plane and fly every day for fun, I am not at the fly for money stage, But alot of my friends are in the race to the bottom.

Yes, their were plently of rumors about her. I don't work for Mesa, but we shared a crewroom with them in PIT back then. Trust me, flying into ROA is no cakewalk, but when your approach briefing includes the statement "go around is not an option" you might need to find another line of work.

I believe I recall this incident (accident). Didn't she neglect to write up the damage that night, and the accepting crew the next morning found damage?

Wow, I'd hate accepting A/C behind her.....if she still has a job.

anyway how could a go around not be an option?

I heard it was alot worse than a hard landing. including fuselage damage, engine pylon damage and wing damage. Also the morning crew flew the thing to CLT before the damage was found. It was dark when the plane left ROA

Crews don't use flashlights on walk-arounds?

I just heard tail strike damage, but I didnt see it for myself

Mesa doesn't pay much and as a result most crews resort to squinting on walk arounds since they can't afford flashlights. Sorry, I couldn't resist :)

How about using the required flashlight in the cockpit by FAR??? Mesa too cheap to put those in too?
