As ya'll know...i'm pretty good about being up on all the rumors that go around this place. I heard 2 Gems the other day. Both of which sound just absolutely rediculous. But, I figured i'd share them with the rest of the gang and see open them up to discussion.

#1 Horizon Flying:

I know that this is already brought up in another thread, but apparently some alaska guy hitching a ride down to DCA the other day said that AWAC was a "Prime Candidate" for horizons RJ flying.

#2 Alleged 190's on Property:

A few Capt's in the PHL crew room the other day we talking about Airways having a meeting up in Appleton this week. One of the topics was talking of Airways giving us some of their 190s if we drop ALPA and take on USAPA.

Again I think both are BOGUS...but I honestly couldnt believe what i was hearing...so talk amoungst yourselves...and discuss

I'm sure Airways ALPA will be falling all over themselves to give up whatever scope they have on the 190's...not.

Wow....not going to happen, but someone has a great imagination.

Things have been pretty quiet lately. Our new slogan here at AWAC needs to be "no news... is good news"

As far as the rumors mentioned in this thread... HA!

I sure hope 190's stay at a mainline carrier. So far so good with Airways and JetBlue. I really had to bite my tongue when I attended a Republic recruiting event and the HR guy said they really hope to get 190's on site. I really wanted to say, gawd I hope not. A US Airways 190 taxiing behind a US Airways Express 190? Hope I'm right, when I say, don't think that'll happen.

Keep these rumors to yourself man... posting them on here makes you look like a tard!

I did hear that you guys are getting LGA and RDU bases...any truth to that?

OK so that's confirmed...anyone hear the rumor that PDT will be closing the LGA base and opening one in PHL?

Gotta love the rumor mill. We'll see what happens.

What I wonder is how they are going to keep up with attrition. It still remains strong and with the latest numbers I moved up another 13 spots. That many senior to me resigned in the past month, and 12 the previous month. Not bad movement.

The number of very, very junior resignations (washouts I guess) is also alarming.

I doubt they can put 20+ pilots per month on line, and that's about what they need.

The sky is not falling, but given age 65, hiring at the majors and thus attrition at AWAC remains strong.

At least I should get a line wherever I want soon!

I like the rumor that there are dead bodies below the elevator to the PHL crew room, and that's why it smells so bad in there.

had a couple buddies that would have to be very junior to you leave in the last month, and they werent training washouts. just figured id throw that out there to show that junior people are leaving. from talking to people things have been getting worse there with scheduling and such as of late and people are starting to get fed up with some of the little things.

you would know better than me and im going off second hand info so take it for what its worth.

*supposedly* PDT bought like 50 crew parking spots in PHL, but we were supposedly to have ordered a bunch of Q400s or ATRs (read: beluga whale) by the end of last year.

I don't think LGA will be going away anytime soon, it seems like a pretty strong base for us.

I know a lot of guys would love to see a PHL base for commuting purposes, I know i hate being out based.

every day its a new smell, sometimes its trash, sometimes its food from jetrock sometimes its homeless people that snuck through security.

Well, the schedules really do blow. Very little commutability even for the very senior guys, low credit, 2-day trips followed by a 3-day trip, uncommutable on both ends and in the middle, meaning three nights in a hotel, etc.

Yeah, it really does suck.

And for the new guys and gals on reserve our crew scheduling people really jack them around. It ain't fun at the moment.

oh, and the reason for those two new bases is because we are buying American Eagle....

It is only going to get worse with RDU and LGA opening. Get ready for a bunch of 2 +3 day trips and a lot of 2+2's. My guess is that we will start seeing a lot of day trips out of all bases. Great for those who don't commute.

If anyone thinks schedules suck now... Just wait!

I am going to rent a room in RDU and just not commute as much. Hopefully I can avoid the whole thing altogether and you can move up one. At least RDU is a pretty nice area to waste time. Lotsa talent!! :D
