Default Psa New Trianing Budget

I heard today that PSA has finalized a new budget for trianing. This budget has alotted enough money to hire 320 new FO's and upgrade 150 captains. Also recently, PSA made all FO's send in there TT and ME time so they could forcast captain upgrades. They found out that they are going to be 50 captains short. So its a good possiblity they may be hiring a few street captains until they get caught up. This is just what I have heard. Has anyone else heard the same thing?

I doubt they'll be hiring street captains, not sure all the FO's have replied to that email yet. And if they did hire street captains wouldn't that suck for those guys b/c they'd essentially get stuck on reserve b/c their seniority number would be below everyone.

We just got an e-mail a day or so ago saying only about 50 percent replied to the times request. I also heard the rumor of hiring off the street captians but also heard that our contract would not allow that but who knows.

Seems like if they were qualified, they'd get the upgrade. Why send somebody to training who does not meet the ATP or insurance mins? I am sure there are ways within the contract to solve this problem. If there are bunch of FO's close to the requirements, maybe they just have to JA folks to fill the gap, but a street CA is still about 2-3 months from the line.

No one really knows what is going on. I think there is still movement at the Captain level, and with the mass hiring of low timers, they are afraid they won't be able to fill the the slots since the low timers won't have ATP mins.
