SKYW Folks: April Reductions?
#41
You should see what they are saying on they little "Skywest Going to Buy Everyone Else" Thread. One guy was saying our ALPA merger protection in our contract would easily be sidestepped. Funny how a non-union guy is saying he knows how to get around our ALPA protections.
I was stating that my understanding of the A-M decision included in the FAA Reauthorization bill is that it does not apply in a union and non-union integration due to merger or acquisition.
I have since been proved incorrect in my assertion that SkyWest is not subject to the RLA.
I further pointed out that if any integration was not amenable to both pilot groups, it would go to court anyway as there is no precident (therefore, no pertinent legal interpretation) for such an integration.
Furthermore, since the the A-M language does apply it says basically that the entities will be operated separately until it can get sorted out. ASA?
So, in my opinion only, If there were a merger with XJT, they would more likely be merged with ASA than with SkyWest. However, If SkyWest acquired MAG, I think there would be a different outcome based purely on the strength of the different MECs.
What do I know, though? I'm just a dumb pilot flying for a non-union carrier.

Finally, the Skywest gang is feeling a downside to this industry. You won't always feel like you did on your first flight on the CRJ with 400 hours. But this is good since it'll make for better conversation when you get on with United and fly the heavy metal.
Seriously though, arrogance is always bliss.

BTW, there are no pilots here who started IOE with less than 1000/100 seeing that's our hiring minimums and they're quite strict with them. Yes they've dropped them down to 850 for current 121 pilots how have jet time but they're different than you 170 FO's!

The best part is that you think because we’re non-union we must be uneducated. I’m sure you’ll say “I didn’t say that” but guess what, you postings say otherwise.

FAT EMB FO's are targeted at 62 right now. I think that is 3 or 4 lines less than last month, and they are now showing 67 in the bid package. Beats last month, with 58 in the bid package and 65 targeted. Results: 350 hours of open time.

It truly is noble how ya'll continue to try to educate tpersuit. Really you can say anything you want to in your post and then end it with a...
P.S. xjet has the best contract in the industry, I really really really wish I had a job with them.
This thread had nothing to do with Xjet or unions, in fact I'll have to go back and read but I think he brought up both...
Anyway, Herc, Where did you see our lines will be reduced in ATL by 2%? I'm just curious I was hoping to be off reserve in May.

MRY and SAN are not likely, but I saw a couple SBPs and SBAs this year. Most do go to FAT and PSP, reserve in those bases can go pretty quick.
