Hey Airwaves, I haven't seen you on here before. For whom do you fly?

Chip talked to my class about a month ago and was asked about this. He said he'd like to get another contract (US Air, or CAL) but not at the expense of buying a company losing $10M per month. Mesa has even worse problems right now. I wouldn't be surprised if SKY bought pieces of mesa to get more CR7's and CRJ9's or to get in with US Air. SkyWest has a lot of money in the bank and have always been a cautious company, that will continue. Jerry and Chip are smart guys.

When I said I had it on good authority I should have said GREAT authority. This is not an idle rumor. The fact is SKYW is actively and seriously considering the purchase of MAG or XJT. Just remember I told you so. If it hasn't been announced in 6-8 months it will mean they changed their minds or couldn't work out the terms they wanted, not that this wasn't true. At current market caps, the could write a check for both.

Skywest is a VERY REAL possibility, my guess is they would merge us with ASA.

If you ETOPS your RJs, you can fly from the West Coast to Hawaii, no problem, and still have room for tons of powdered sugar with red food coloring drink mix in back, or even under the seats where the life vests should be!
A319 have never been mentioned by anyone except flamers like you and by the way, grow up and get a life. Cracking on SKW just shows your immaturity and it’s obvious to us, regardless of your age, that you're as juvenile as they come.

BTW, this is a forum which means almost anything is up for discussion. If you don’t like it then don’t read it and if you have nothing to contribute then don’t contribute at all.

I doubt it seeing that Jerry and friends don't want one pilot group having that much power. No he'd buy you guys and keep you separate so that they could whipsaw us all. Regardless of the whipsawing, they'd still keep all of us near or equal to the top in total compensation and QOL; but you can kiss the days of being the OVERALL & BY FAR industry leader good-by.

Agree/disagree? ............take a look at ASA.

I think their goal is to keep us about 2/3 of the way up the pile...that way you're better than the majority so you don't have too much grounds for resentment, but low-cost enough to compete.

They also provide us with a positive work environment...that's hard to quantify in dollar terms, but it's certainly worth something to me. I've worked for some very large, very effective organizations, and SKW has a similar atmosphere...and it's one of the very few airlines which does. If you're a civilian who has spent his entire working life climbing through the seedy under-belly of aviation...just to work at a crap regional with bad attitudes all around, you have no idea what you're missing.

Just thinking out loud, Mesa's going down, how will it go?

1. Bankrupt and Liquidated.
2. Bought out at bargain price.
3. Chipped away, downsized till there's hardly anything left.

I'd rather see 1 or 2, that way a better carrier can take those PHX and LAS routes sooner.
