Does Mesa hate Colgan?

Has anyone from Colgan had any problems jumpseating on a mesa flight out of IAD. Everytime I tried, the pilots would barely acknwledge me and some said no on an empty flight! Does Mesa hate colgan guys?

Just contact the jumpseat coordinator.

The Juice 03-12-2008 12:05 PM

My buddy is a Mesa FO out of IAD and he has said nothing, maybe your breath smelled?

higney85 03-12-2008 12:14 PM

maybe the no alpa vote....

as a disclaimer i have no problem with my 9L brothers/sisters.

dingo222 03-12-2008 12:21 PM

yeah, im sure it was the no alpa vote. they dont even get block or better with alpa. Prob just ****ed off that XJT is coming into dulles taking some of their flying.

andy171773 03-12-2008 12:36 PM

Mesa is just venting, cause everyone hates them.

KiloAlpha 03-12-2008 12:40 PM

I don't hate them... that is a pretty ignorant thing to say. People may dislike the company, but that is no reason to resent their employees.

flynavyj 03-12-2008 12:46 PM

hate mesa's management = yes

hate the pilots and flight crews who have to put up with the management = no

Infact, i wish nothing but the best for them in getting a better contract, wages, work rules, and in a worst case scenario (a different job) if mesa goes tango-uniform.

Good point...unless you actually hear them defend the company...then just smile and nod to be probably as nice as you could at that point

flyguyniner11 03-12-2008 01:10 PM

it might be because we took some of their flying out of iad, i know we got that rdu route that used to be theirs

Maybe if Mesa would actually run itself like an airline and not cancel 20+% of its flights, it's flying would not be GIVEN AWAY TO AN AIRLINE THAT WILL ACTUALLY FLY IT.

EJ taking Mesa's flying, give me a break.

CRJDriver 03-12-2008 01:15 PM

So you are saying I should feel bad for the Mesa guys for going to work there...

Mesa treating it's employees like scum is no secret and it hasn't been for a few years now...if you do your research before you interview at a company that's one thing, but to each his own I guess.

Ignorance breeds disaster.

CubCAPTAIN 03-12-2008 01:41 PM

Every time I've been on them out of IAD they've come back and brought me up to first class and given me a tray full of food. I was actually really surprised the first time it happened. They all have seemed like good guys.

Moose Surgeon 03-12-2008 02:06 PM

I have caught a ride with them kind folks several times and never had any thouble. Now there was that one time screw scheduling put positive space on go jets...

gearmaid 03-12-2008 02:12 PM

Just be careful not to get junior assigned by their crew tracking in IAD when you get off the plane. Doesn't matter if you work for the company or not... ;)

Blackbird 03-12-2008 02:22 PM

Never had a problem with Mesa but the guys from XJT have always gone out of there way to get me on the flights from DAL to IAH. They should just change that service to shuttle air since its always CAL, XJT and Colgan people on it. Can't wait tell we can fly the Q there.

skidmark 03-12-2008 03:49 PM

Jumpseat wars are lose lose on both sides.
