She said competitive was 600/50, but I have also seen posted competitive is 600/100 and also posted that competitive is 700/75.

When I applied I got the same automated email, and since it said a lack of reply was disinterest in the country, I too replied. No idea if I needed to or not but about two weeks later I got a call for a interview that was maybe a week after that. Could be the reason why they're not calling back as fast is, they were running two 20 people classes a month and now they're running one 16 person class a month because they were having trouble finding enough sim time for the initials and all the captain upgrades we've got going on. No idea if it'll go back to the big classes after most of the upgrades are thru.

That is the same automated email I have been getting, even when I update a new resume and send it in.

As stated previously, guys who have already finished ground school are sitting at home waiting for sim. Most will be waiting for 5 weeks and since they are being paid the entire time, PSA has slowed down interviewing and ground school significantly (due to upgrades). It sucks, I know, but if you meet the minimums, be patient:).

PS: When you do get the job and start training, stay away from Wilbur's!

I started ground this week and we just found out dates from 2 to 4 weeks on sims. They are way backed up buying time in STL and Montreal for sims. I will second Wilbur's = not so good!

PSA vs. Compass?

I know it's a toss-up as to when you'll upgrade, but I am trying to decide between Compass and PSA. If PSA is slowing down hiring, could that mean the start of a slower upgrade? Also, a friend told me that Compass would guarantee an upgrade soon due to buying that many more jets in the next few months. Could someone give me an educated or experienced opinion on these two companies including QOL? I grew up in Knoxville and my entire family is there so I am leaning toward that more heavily but if it could cost me a couple of years in upgrade then I'd take the more sure bet. But is it a better bet or is even a starting company such as Compass a roll of the dice?

I dont know much about PSA but I have talked with a number of Compass pilots and they seem to like it. Also you have the potential of flowing up to NWA is you want to after 30 months. They told me upgrade was about a year now. FWIW Good luck

My crashpad owner is a Compass captian, with no complaints and happy to be wholly owned now...but they dont have many planes, so hope for more over there or upgrade will slow down there as well. PSA is going to run at least a class a month average for '08 and upgrading at least 10 a month from my understanding... both are great places, weigh it out for yourself
