Lets put this to rest right now....You may jumpseat/Non-rev as long as you've been activated in CASS..period...end of story...The "qualified 121 Crewmember" Gripe holds no water....

You will have a voucher in the packet. I enjoy having my car here. You actually drive very little yet have the option of coming or going as you please.

It depends on when they make your ASA ID tags. Ours were made on our first Wednesday and they say when it shows up on ourasa that you are then in CASS. Mine was up the same night.

Check your OurAsa and go to CASS inquiry, lets you know if you're active and voila...

you will get access soon after...you will be assigned seniority/company ID/Employee ID after the first two days, then the best course of action for anything you might not understand yet is to ask around, whether it be here or in class, as we've all been there before...

Well let's take a closer look at that.......
ASA's FOM section 3-4.1 states "No one is allowed access to the flight deck unless he is a crewmember operating the flight or otherwise authorized by 14 CFR 121."
Now....take a look at 14 CFR 121.547......
"§ 121.547 Admission to flight deck. (a) No person may admit any person to the flight deck of an aircraft unless the person being admitted is— (1) A crewmember;"
The remaining sections of 14 CFR 121 deal with admitting certain officials of the United States Gov't into the flight deck.
I don't dispute that jumpseating occurs prior to becoming a qualified crewmember. I suppose most Captains assume that you have passed the SIC ride......or maybe they aren't familiar with the regs.
CASS doesn't necessarily admit you to the jumpseat. It is a visual verification tool used prior to allowing admittance. What allows admittance is having the proper credentials to be a crewmember.
