SkyWest crew hotel in Bakersfield, CA

Any SkyWest guys who've overnighted in BFL, is there an In-N-Out burger anywhere near the hotel (Sheraton Four Points)?

It seems every California layover I've had here at SkyWest (LAX, SFO, SAN, SMF), we've been just out of reach with the hotel shuttle!!

Jonesin' for a double double, eh? I'll think about you when I chomp one down after I get to ONT tomorrow night. :D

The In-N-Out Burger at SFO is literally 100 yards from the runways, and is right near all the layover hotels. Where do you guys layover in SFO??

According to list of all the in-n-out burgers (I carry it with me everywhere I go ), there are 2 in-n-outs in BFL. The closest one is about 5 miles south of the airport. I am not sure where your hotel is, but the address is:
5100 Stockdale Hwy

All this in-n-out talk is making me hungry. 3x3 hungry! :D

ghilis101 03-25-2008 05:59 PM

its been a year since i overnighted in BFL, but i dont remember there being an in-n-out nearby.

according to the website, the address is

2310 Panama Ln.
Bakersfield, CA 93307... so i guess you could google map it

My crew said there was... I'd already gotten some jack in the box tacos to eat at the pool with my gas station beer.

There is one there not to far from the hotel. Take a left on the main road (4 lane street) from the hotel and go down about 3 to 4 blocks. Hang another left at the stop light (I don't know the name of the road) there is a McDonalds and Jack in the Box on the right hand side of the road. It should be the second stop light if I remember right. The In and Out is a block or two from there on the same side of the road your already on. If you ask the front desk they will give you more exact directions and street names. I have had the hotel van stop there on the way from the airport before if you want. They will wait for you to go in and get some double doubles! Good luck and will take no more than 5 mins to walk there. Nice hotel too! Flat screen Tv's in all the rooms nice pool and good exercise facilities!

There is a In and Out burger in BFL I think it is on Panama which is not too far away from the Sheraton. Another good place to go is lenghtwise Brewing which is off of White lane. Go to www.lengthwise.com and you can get the directions from there.

BUR has one down the road from the Holiday Inn. A little walk, but afterwards, you need it :)

Ha ha, very funny. With my seniority (and being ORD-based), getting one of the coveted California layovers is quite a treat! Anywho, did some research, looks like there is one quite close to the hotel....finally can get a sticker for my flight bag!!

SharkAir 03-25-2008 08:17 PM

A wise man once told me that the most important thing to know about Bakersfield is that Highway 99 is the way out.

What ANP said. The van driver will stop off and wait if you want. There is one driver in particular who is really cool. short with red hair. ah bakersfield, the memories... my very first brasillia flight. with ANP too!

Is it hard to get Cal layover lines out of ORD? Whenever the day may come that we start transition and classes again I am heading to Chicago. I am going to miss the flying out here (Not the commute!) and want to bid for flights heading out this way. I should be bidding in the low hundreds when I get there. Thanks!

Man PM me I'll always hook a brother up with some In 'n out. I grew up in Bakersfield, and will be here till my class starts. But In 'n Out is pretty much walking distance from the sheraton

It's not hard, per se, but there aren't as many Cali lines out of ORD as there are out of DEN or SLC...and those lines seem to go pretty senior (mostly because it's cold out right now). Getting Cali layovers from PBS seem to be a tossup for me right now (I'm at 65%), but it's usually SkedPlus+ to the rescue! I did so much modifying this month that I only have one two-day trip (IDA layover) that is part of my original line!

That...and it's Merle Haggard's birthplace.

Just a note...if you have a long break in LAX you can take the "parking spot" shuttle to the In-N-Out that's right next to their garage. Just tip the driver a buck each way and they will be happy to take you, crews go all the time...

Make sure you take the Sepulveda bus, not the Century Blvd. Or hop out on short final to Rwy 24R.

vicman 03-29-2008 02:18 PM

Yes there is

Walk out the lobby hang a left.

from California/Mowhalk start walking west.

proceed 2 blocks (after the 2nd traffic light) you'll see it in the parking lot of Borders Books and Jamba juice.

appx walk time is 10 minutes, you'll start smelling the aroma at about 5 out.

Aaa....Yea! My capt and I took the wrong bus once. When we got off we were scraching our heads trying to figure out were the hell we were. Ended up walking from Century Blvd over, I do not recommend! Had to find the planes landing on 24L to get our barrings on where we needed to go.

WhizWheel 03-30-2008 07:24 PM

Man when I was a kid growing up in Westchester that In N Out was a BYO slot car racing place (1970's) that EVERYONE used to hang out at. I couldn't think of a better replacement for that than In N Out!!!!!
