Anybody interviewing with ASA soon?

Quick question,

Has anybody been granted an interview with ASA sometime soon?

Are they giving interview dates at all, anybody knows?

Cheers.

Just interviewed with them the last 2 days. My interview had been set up for about a month. There was about 3 people starting interview process today. They said they were definately in a slow down and are not giving class dates until they hear back from Delta. They were thinking that the Mesa news would mean they might pick up some more flying and not have to cut back on their lines and that would mean hiring would pick up again.
As far as the interview the gouge on the web sites is spot on. Good Luck!

Last RUMOR I heard from the training department is that ASA is continuing to hire, albeit at a very slow pace, into a pool for future classes. I haven't heard anything official from DR or any of the recruiting guys, but that seems to be the consensus.

If you are interested, send in your application by all means. If indeed they are hiring into a pool, you will be one of the first for a class date and beat the next hiring wave.

Thanks for the info!

I wonder what creiteria they are going to follow to take from the hiring pool for the next classes. Seniority? Hours? Age?

Cheers!

Friend of mine interviewed about two weeks ago. He said they're still hiring about 10/mo to cover attrition. He was put into a pool without a class date.

Hey Squawk, did they tell him what criteria they are going to follow in order to take from that pool?

Just courious...

Safe Flights!

They would use date of interview: first come, first serve.

Seniority is assigned once you are in class.

No, next time I talk to him I'll ask him. Like Noodles said, it's likely first come first serve. Good luck to you guys in the pool. I've been in a hiring pool before and I know what it's like playing the waiting game, and in my case with no avail.

Good deal, thanx for the info.
Cheers.

That's exactly what DR told us in BI a couple of weeks ago.

For those who interviewed in the month of March, or most recently last week, has anyone heard anything back from ASA regarding your status in the pool, or were you told you were added to the pool on the 2nd day of your interview? Thanks everyone!

I got told on the last day of the interview that I should expect to be in the pool. I just got a call and a letter saying that the Feds didn't find anything too bad on my record and I'm officially in the pool. Got it right about 2 weeks later, maybe a day or so more. No idea how big it is though.

phxsuns1319 04-08-2008 05:31 PM

Thanks for the fast response. Yeah I interviewed in late March and haven't heard anything from them since...like you I was told to be expected to be placed into the pool. As I understand it if it's a no-go you'll get a letter of rejection shortly after you interview?...haven't got one so I'll take that as a good sign. Did you interview in late March as well?

wanttofly 04-08-2008 06:08 PM

I think they said you'd get a letter either way. I got a voicemail before the letter came saying the process was completed. I interviewed mid-March, so I'm not sure when you should expect the call...I just got mine so yours might be soon.

phxsuns1319 04-08-2008 06:20 PM

Ok, I interviewed literally a week after you I think, you must have gotten the phone call and letter last week I'm assuming? As for the pool size I think you were one of the first to be added, if not, the first five or ten people. When I interviewed only two of us made it through to the sim and drug testing, and I don't think that many people have interviewed since March 21st...so I think the pool is smaller than 15 people...thats just me talking though, I don't know for sure. Thanks for the info!
