AWAC Online App

I recently applied to AirWisconsin using the online app and saw today that the status showed "Phone Interview." Does anyone know how long I should expect to wait to get a call when they change the status? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think it's pretty variable. I just submitted one a few days ago and haven't heard anything yet. I was talking to a check airmen over there though and he was saying its been known to take from a few days to a few weeks (2-3 at the longest I believe). He said it might take even longer now since they're starting to slow down hiring. It seems like it could be anything really.

It took them 3-4 weeks to call me, which Sarah just called Monday. She offered the 15 or 22 to interview. I let her know I had a class date at Comair the 21 so she gave me the 8th in PHL. She said the interview was full but she would make an exception just so I could get a decision before my class date. She also let me know that If I am hired April 8 I will not start class until the end of May...

Sounds like they really have them stacked up.

I just noticed the same status deal on my app, no call for me yet either but by the sounds of things it might be a little while.

You guys are talking about the online app at careerbuilder.com right?

Speedbird172 04-04-2008 11:02 AM

Nah it's some new online app they implented just last week, I tried emailing my stuff into them also after I did the online one but just got an email back saying emails no longer accepted and just to do the online app.

speedbird who you jumpin ship from?

Speedbird172 04-04-2008 12:01 PM

Comair, just not workin out that great for me. Long story short I have nothing to lose by getting out now, yet if I end up having to stay here I'll deal with it.

PittsburghDude 04-04-2008 12:32 PM

SuperPilotJesse 04-04-2008 12:34 PM

Hey Speedbird PM me the long version if you have time. As you know they just gave me a class date... maybe I won't like the same things as you? Thanks.

For some I'm sure it works out great. It's certainly not the worst situation, I just think AWAC might work out better, and like I said if it turns out the same then I haven't lost anything.

This is not a pop at you personally but we never did. There are probably 10-15 FO's that have been hired with that time and they came from collegiate aviation. (Not that I agree that they're any better)

We've lost a lot of guys to US/UAL/DAL/NWA but they've stopped hiring so our CA attrition is about to hit a wall. Because of this we've gone back to being a lot more picky about experience.

All the new FO's I've been flying with over the last 2-3 months have had at least 1000TT. Keep plugging away, you can never waste an hour in your logbook.

Well they are flying me out Monday... 625/215 not from an aviation college.

Why?

AWAC has typically hired for attitude, not experience, in the past couple years.
