brand new Mesa pilots I cannot respect.
my instructor just got online with MAG two months ago. I cannot put a man down for doing what ever it takes to earn and provide for his kid. |

I will guarentee you that he was making more money and poviding for his kids more while sitting next to you doing turns around a point than he is at MAG. Take it from me...I left instructing to go to that place. I left a year later and haven't looked back. |
meeko sounds like a fresh pilot that knows absolutely nothing about what regional flying is like.

I have no clue of why his intentions lead him to apply with mesa? It's maybe because his wife works and lives there in phx, and oh yeah...just like some of us.. we got into this industry to become an airline pilot..not an instructor for life!!! you're absolutely correct, I have no clue.. thanks for putting me in my place  |
Commuting out of PHX to a better airline is what he should have done. He could commute to a Skywest or XJT job and still have more time off at home. Not kidding. Mesa's 8 days off a month is unbelievable.
He chose a crap job, there's no way around it! |

Its all good dude. I kinda used you as a foil to vent. It feels good to vent ya know, blow off some steam? It is nice y'all are pulling for us- there aint much to pull though. We are all very much downtrodden. Folks I know who have the patience of Job are grinding their teeth to the jawbone and quick to set off. Such is life in America. It's a dog eat dog world out there, and I have nobody to blame but myself I suppose. That is, if I can subscribe to the "1 person can make a difference" theory, which I am not so sure holds true.
Cheers mate, I will see ya at the bar one of these days and we can buy each other a stiff round of medicine. "Your phone's ringing dude." "Thanks Donnie." ;) Ciao! You'll do fine because you have a great attitude to survive this chapter. I'm a mutant cargo dog. I worked at the old COEX under JO, he is one reason of many I left the pax side. Make no mistake, there is no real 'flying' bloom on our rose, we were looked at crosseyed by many of our friends working at the industrial parts of the airport years ago <g>. The only reason people speak high of UPS/Fedex now is that these two companies make money, thus better career stability. It's not the backside of the clock flying we do <g> . I guess I had old jet syndrome 'OJS' rather than SJS <bg> and wanted to work at a place that made money more than anything. Best of luck. |
