I cant really think of a nice place within the city that I would feel comfortable living in. Rittenhouse is really expensive and too touristy. University City is still "West Philadelphia" no matter how you try to sugar coat it. A word to the wise, dont go up North Broad unless you wanna get shanked. South Street is a zoo, constant traffic flow going down with no parking anywhere, higher than 12th street it gets ghetto really quickly. You will find that alot in Philly, a real nice neighborhood, about 2 blocks from the ghetto. You cant keep the skeez out of your neighborhood. I think I covered North, East, West, and South.... Stick to the suburbs if you really need to be there.

So, how about this airport parking lot...is it really so dangerous to leave the car there? Is there any alternative to that?

I think you're overestimating the free time of a new hire regional FO. Plus, if you're gonna work when not working it won't matter where you live. You won't have much time to socialize. Maybe find a roommate in GS or something. What kind of car are you planning on leaving in the employee lot?

Why on earth would anyone want to live in filthadelphia on purpose? But whatever floats your boat.

Whenever I have to go into a sketchy area in uniform I remove the tie, epaulets and wings. You get mistaken for a missonary and people will actually walk away. I works even better if there are two of you ;)

Obviously I'm not going to work all of the 12 days off per month, I'll see what I can do. The car is a Mustang GT, should I be worried?

It won't let you because I have less than 25 posts I think. As soon as I get 25 I'll PM you. Regarding the instructor position we'll see when the time comes.

You did mention that the old rommates are women right? :D
I'm actually trying to get a 1br alone possibly.

As a new FO in PHL, you can expect to quickly hold a line and have 13-12 days off with about 90 hours a month. If you don't try for weekends off, you'll get a few blocks of 3-4 days off. Otherwise, expect 4 on, 2-3 off all month.

I would PM you but I still can't, so I'll just ask here quick. I really don't care much about weekend off yet, but is there any chance sometimes to swap trips so to get like 6/7 off and then like two trips very close to each other? You see what I mean? Obviously it wouldn't be every single month, you know just once in a while.

How do you like Philly and RW? How does your schedule look like as far as show time etc?
