Default Is mesa's end near?

2 new articals

http://pacific.bizjournals.com/pacif...html?ana=yfcpc
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080410/mair_...tice.html?.v=1

First with their stock closing at 81 CENTS a share they want to issue 37.8 million dollars of stock. now their market cap is 21.8 million. which would greatly dilute the current share holders value.

2nd mesa is sueing big sky for 4.8 million dollars. for breech of contract on leases of 1900's. Big sky (nair) says they have continued to pay the leases and has filed counter suit.

sounds of absolute desperation.

while I dont know if the end is near or not, it is starting to get pointless to start new threads everyday asking the same question. I am not knocking your desire to post threads, and I think you should feel free to do so, but maybe we as a community to start a thread that at least offers our mental support to the mesa pilot group.

I piosed the some questions to ERJ Driver a couple of days ago, and he was willing to answer those questions, and now I have more respect for him and his co wokers for it.

While there are some that question the level of respect for the pilot group over there and for the new guys that hired on when the problems where well known, that does not make me respect them any less. They may have made a mistake for going there, but it is important to see the guys that did or feel like the made mistake correct them in the future. That is how lessons are learned.

I am sure I am going to get slammed for this because this same agurment can be applied to people that work for another airline that I am openly against. I am not trying to sound hypicritcal of the whole thing. All I can see this, I can not always argue two different points of views with success.

I could not agree more! Yes we all, including his employees, don't like Orenstein but that's no reason to wish ill will on others.

I wish ALL MESA pilots the best, you've been on a very rocky road for some time now and it looks like the worst is still in front of you.

Good Luck and Good Day.

Totally agree, but if you think the thread is pointless, then don't read it, nonetheless reply to it....sorry, I just hate reading through 20 posts(which includes this one) for the 2 or 3 that have something to contribute.....just ignore them and they will quickly roll to the bottom of the list....very quickly

Then why don't you do the same for the Aloha guys, they deserve it much more.

Point well taken.

To be honest, I am unaware if I have even spoken to any. To that end, I cannot add any more to the situation that what has been already added. I certainly do not wish to belittle thier situation.

I also feel sorry for the staff there, but the end of Mesa would equal a great weight off the shoulders of the airline world. There needs to be a capacity reduction at the regional level and this is one way to have it happen.

I am not joking about the staff either. As I have pointed out in the past, they have been great to me as a commuter.

Regardless of whether or not Mesa goes under, another company will eventually come along and take their place as the worst undercutting regional company in the industry.

Losing Mesa fixes nothing. It just puts thousands of pilots, dispatchers, flight attendants, mechanics, etc out of jobs.

There will always be an undercutter. It would only be a matter of time after Mesa's demise.
