David Clark X11's

Hey folks just wondering if anyone has a set of DC X11's ? I bought a set about a month ago and I'm dissapointed in how my batteries are holding up. I flew 7.5hrs today and they're dead , and I've tried different types of bat. . I'm using rechargables now , but still think I should get a few days out of them . Just wondering if there is something wrong with my headset???? I know people with Bose that get a lot more life out of their batteries.

I get about 30-40 flight hours with mine. Do you have the auto shut off enabled? Im using 2300mah rechargables

Lithium batteries will extend your life, but 7.5 hours is still really low, even for regular batteries. If I were you, I'd give DC a call and see what they say.

This is off topic, but if you can return um splurge the extra 200 bucks and get the bose, they are a far superior product.

That's a matter of opinion. I've flown with the Bose before, they've never felt right on my head. Been flying with the Lightspeed Zulu's and like them better.

I tried the x11's before I got my bose and I definitely like my bose better. I can't say I've heard of your problem with batteries from anyone else. One of my old flight instructors had the 11's and said they lasted about 40 hrs and he swore they were the best. Good luck figuring out your problem. I'd say go with the bose or try the zulu's.

I would recommend the Zulu's over the Bose. I have tried both and the Zulu (in my opinion) is much more comfortable. You also have the bluetooth feature w/ cell phone and MP3 connection built right in, without dropping extra cash on an adapter for the Bose. With that said You really can't go wrong with either. The Zulu and the Bose are far superior to anything else on the market in my opinion. I have also tried the X-11s in flight and was really let down with the sound quality. Other friends that have the X-11s have said that they have a feedback/squelch issue with certain com units.

Pantera how do you like them?

The Bose meet TSO specs, which many operators require.

I tried the x11 and was sorely disappointed with all aspects of it. It was junk. The Bose has been proven to be a terrific product.

Bose QC2 with the UFlyMike adapter. Half the price of the bose, same quality. Best headset ever. I fly about a month's worth of 121 flying on one AAA battery. Killer set of headphones for DH's too!
