Comesaba New Hires

Ha...so, like I'm a low-time pilot and am interested in making the jump to the airlines. I only have like 3 hours of multi...and I know I'm ready.

My question(s) is...what is the interview like? what should I study? do they have any benefits? what is the pay?

<that was sarcasm> ;)

flynavyj 04-14-2008 09:24 PM

this was pointless

You can apply at Mesa as street captain with that many multi hours. You are golden for Mesa dude:D

Just curious... these 300 hour wonder kids, at what point are people not wonder kids and you have some respect for them?
TT/ME?

HA..in this industry???? NEVER

Pilots are absolutely unable to EVER let water just "go under the bridge" in any way shape or form.

The fact that DL pilots are MAD at Comair guys STILL (even ones that had nothing to do with the bad tidings of the past).

STILL dissent in the AA pilot group from TWA
STILL dissent in the DL pilot group from Western

etc.

While some things are unforgivable (scabs) there are other things that are just beyond anyones control. Getting bought, absorbed, merged and the negative sides of these things stick with pilots forever, they have to find someone to blame.

The same thing with a pilot who has an easier time getting into the airlines as they did. It goes the same for the guys who got on at 1000TT and 100ME, there were guys that needed 3000TT and 250ME...and it goes on and on.

The easy fix is to just not tell anyone you're low time unless they ask.

Disclaimer: I'm not a 300 hour wonder :)..just my .02

I get what you are saying... and I agree. What I meant was not when will that 300hr guy gain respect, but what is the line where a new guy is not looked down on, and I know it is different for everyone that's why I want everyones opinion.

Example:
Hombre A = 300hr/3ME
Hombre B = 400hr/50ME
Hombre C = 500hr/100ME
Hombre D = 625hr/215ME
Etcetera...

There has to be a point where you would not consider him a "wonder kid" and just another pilot?

When they dont jump out of their seats whith a "deer in headlights" look when the master caution lights up/chimes, when they learn how to talk on the radio, and when they keep their eyes on the instruments instead of the windshield when they are shooting an ILS to mins.:D
But then again it obviously varies by individual...

I didn't fall for anything. I know it was not real, he even said /sarcasm. We're not that stupid. I'm just here asking a question, because I don't think my question warrants a new thread.

A = disgusting, get your multi add on :)
B = Go teach!, you SJS freak!
C = Eh
D = lack in TT made up (in my mind) by a decent amount (proportionally) of ME time.

mooney 04-15-2008 10:02 AM

"super" pilot no need to get defensive.....I didnt realize your name was in bold print in my post....the whole world isnt out to get you :)

SuperPilotJesse 04-15-2008 10:18 AM

Yeah, part 135 IFR mins!

Otherwise you aren't qualified to fly boxes IFR...but you can fly people IFR

mooney 04-15-2008 11:45 AM

Right, I know what the 135 PIC req's are but what would that be for 135 SIC?

I know what you are getting at, and I hate to defend the trend that has been happening with lower times.

So you are saying you need to be able to fly 135 PIC to be 121 SIC?
