Why don't we all put our money together and buy one of their CRJ's they are supposedly selling for money. Not a snowballs chance in hell!!!!

For any low-timers, would it make sense to apply to Mesa, take the training and get oriented to 121 flying? I say this because Mesa is either going out of business soon, or there will be big changes (as in JO is pushed out). In the meantime, an applicant gets 121 training, gets to experience life at a really crappy regional (which will make the next one seem like Shangra La), and will probably not have to face it for long - something is going to happen soon (BK, change of control, etc). Think of it as a free RJ familiarization course.

I wouldn't leave any half-way decent gig for that...!

Risky. The problem is that if they don't furlough you, then you are stuck with either riding it out or breaking the training contract. They have recently sued numerous ex-mesa pilots for that.

They will probably not shut down immediately, if at all. A Ch.11 filing would likely see the pilot contract tossed out, which would mean a downgrade from indentured servitude to outright slavery.

Does BK actually give an airline the right to throw out a CBA? Sounds a little far fetched.

I see your point...just was thinking it would be a way to "stick it to the man"

You make an excellent case as to why this is risky. One question though...if Mesa can break the CBA, then why shouldn't the training contracts also be tossed? Obviously, if the CBA is tossed and QOL gets even worse for MAG pilots (not sure how, but lets say it can) then the terms of the original job offer that included the training contract have changed...shouldn't that void the training contract?
