Are we there yet?
Just out of curiosity, i know talk comes around often about the "lifers" at the regional level, we also have the top tier vs bottom tier regional argument on a daily basis over here, so, just wondering, who at the regionals has NO interest in putting their application anywhere in the future (if things at your current employer don't change of course). How many people on the text are now at their "dream" job?
|
You probably won't get many responses...most folks still hold onto the dream of international widebody flying, and will not easily admit that they are letting go, even when the writing is on the wall for them.
BTW, I am planning (proactively) to move on. |

c'mon, she's not THAT wide....but does have hips.

I would say my dream job does not involve part 121 anymore.
it did when I started. But I will say this.... I am for the most part content with TSA, I adjusted my life to gain the most from QOL that TSA can offer me. Right now I am satisfied with that. There are more things there that I want to do and accomplish before I make any other choices where my carreer will go. I want to upgrade some day and do that for a few years to make sure I have experinced as much as I can. I am not really a money *****. But I do money adapt, and for me and my wife with what we both do and the incomes that we have, TSA has enough financial potential for me. Dream job? I really doubt it, but as of yet I do not know enough to make that call. But there are some things that I have learned that I dont want. For me int. widebody does not interest me. Take for what is worth. Just my take on my life. Reeves |

Screw the arilines, Ill just stay here and stare at your avatar. jk I just watched that movie Bandidas. I couldnt decide whether I liked her or Penelope cruz better. In the end it was selma hands down.
|
I'm not at my dream job yet, but I'm pretty friggin' close. Current gig might just become that "dream job", though...
|
Yep...I Loved 121 for a while. It is no longer my dream-job, however! Actively looking elsewhere. Anywhere.
|
Salma Hayek.......mmmmmm.....
So what was the question again?? |
If circumstances allow, best thing is to move overseas. Better opportunity.
|
Move overseas for Salma Hayek or a job???
|
Well, with only getting about 20hrs / month, and only 200 people below me in seniority, moving on seems a bit distant right now...
But after all this randomness and economy change, I don't think I could consider a regional airline my home for the next 30 years. |
So what i'm getting so far is that not many people have "chose" to be at the last stop yet, but for all we know, this could be it.....anyone else?
PS- caught banditas on an overnight once, was a fun entertaining movie, with a couple of beautiful banditas in it. |
Well in the last few months I have found that my thoughts are not complying with reality. I just stay put for now, and no more thinking
|
I can't say this is it for me. To volatile.
In this order, I am looking for: Stability QOL Compensation/benefits Two companies I want to work for meet the criteria. |

I'm done moving anywhere for a while, but I have no desire to stop. If this is the final destination, I doubt I'll be retiring from the airline biz.
|
Now that is Nice!

Rj
I have flown with plenty of guys who had reached their "Dream Job" and thought that they had it made. Things change that are beyond our control. Often we are able to reach nirvana for only a short time before fate tosses us back out into the ruff sea.
At this point who can even say that their will be any RJ's left in 3 years? SkyHigh |

There may not be half as many RJs in 2011 as there are today in 2008...but barring some major world catastrophe there will be 50 seaters operating domestically well into the future. |
