Fedex Jumpseat
I was told that as part of cass we are allowed to jumpseat on fedex. I was checking the loads for this weekend and they are crazy heading back up to work so i was wondering if anyone had any information on how to check to see if fedex has any seats available or a number to call. Thanks for your help

There is a link on the ALPA website for FedEx flight schedules. You don't have to be ALPA to use it.
I sent you a PM with the link and the JS Phone number for FedEx. |
I've never jumpseated on fedex but word is there is food available??

I did it last night. Great way to go. Short flight so I can't vouch for the food thing. Crew was really nice, plenty of seats and best part: No pax to deal with.
Call the number listed on the payscale section of this site to list. The person on the other end of the phone will tell you the schedule between the two places you wish to go. There is also a site that is sponsored by their union with flight schedules. I believe that it's listed in pay scale stuff as well. |

I've used FedEx several times to get to work and they have been fantastic. I might add that once you make your reservation, be sure and give them ample notice if it turns out you will not be showing up for the flight. I can't remember if there is a specific amount of advanced notice you must give them. I've heard of people losing their privileges as a result of not doing this--deservedly so.
As far as food, the crew had catering available to them but told me to have at it, as they had brought their own. I wouldn't bank on it, but it's a possibility! |

http://www.alpa.org/fdx/jumpseat/ That will give you all the info you need: Schedules, phone numbers, procedures. It is a bit confusing at first, figuring out where to go and such but that's the same with many things. As far as food, we get snack boxes (same ones on pax flights) and sometimes catering on some domestic flights (depending on hours on duty, etc.) and you may get one from a guy who doesn't want or need his. |
The purple boxes are the best . . .
