When is RAH's contract up with CAL?
All of this talk about CAL, XJT, etc. I heard that the CAL/RAH deal is short-term and the 200's are supposed to be gone after 2 years. Is any of that true? Thanks.

Yup it sure is...and theres not one E170 on property.....:) Its my understanding the CRJ will start leaving this year, slowly, and the ERJ is a longer CPA. Its interesting though, when the parked 69 of XJTs planes they only replaced them with 45 from RJET. Now the CRJ is going to go away too.... so either they are going to replace this capacity or let it go for good. Who knows.

"Under our Continental agreement, we expect all 24 CRJ-200
aircraft to be removed from service and returned to the lessor. Currently, we anticipate removing seven aircraft in the fourth quarter of 2008, 10 aircraft in 2009 and seven aircraft in 2010." "The ERJ-145 aircraft have a term of three to five years. Under certain conditions, Continental may extend the term on the aircraft up to five additional years." With CAL pulling that flying, I sure am glad now that Uncle Jerry didn't pick that contract up :eek:
I doubt that the flying RAH currently is taking care of for CAL will be around for too long - it will probably serve as CAL's feeder cuts... |

Why bid for a contract that uses planes you've never used before? Now they're removing them 2-3 years into it? That is one awful business choice, whether by Chautublic or Continental. |
