Any idea how many are in the pool ? Have rj classes stopped all together or just slowed down? I'm getting close to putting in the resume and just wondering how it will all pan out . I'm not opposed to the emb120 either.

I would go to Comair. They are hiring 300 pilots this year. Fly a jet and have a choice of base, either JFK or CVG. Good Luck

I actually live in South Dakota and Denver and Salt Lake would be an easy commute. Comair is an option and I have a good friend that's been a capt forever that would walk my resume in. Really looking for that QOL, since I'll be commuting.

As of a couple of weeks ago there were about 100 or so in the pool. I flew with a guy on the hiring board and he said that they are planning on picking hiring back up in May. I don't know whats coming down the pipe but evidently they think we're going to need more pilots because attrition has slowed to a crawl. Good luck. I didn't say classes, I said hiring, although if they are increasing hiring you would think that would follow.

From what I have heard, it sounds like there might be an RJ new hire class in late June or early July, but probably a small one. Things could always pick up if we get a new partner airline, but baring that it might be a while for those of you in the deep end of the pool...

There are a ton of EMB pilots with bids in for a jet transition. Wouldn't the company put those guys in the jet classes and put new-hires in the bro?

The current EMB FOs should go to RJ class before a newhire assuming they've met the 1 year seat lock and are bidding a domicile that needs FOs.

Last I heard from Virgina was a CRJ class starting on June 30th. She will be starting the awards in the next couple of weeks when she gets final approval and domiciles. All transitions from what I understand. I am on my 13 month and still waiting!

I want some of those PDX FOs to move on to the jet so I can get in there!

Just looked at the seniority list and looks like they just started a Bro class. Last week there were only nine people in training and now its up to 40, and a few are in a CRJ class. Only three new hires in CRJ. No upgrades. I have been on reserve since July and looks like it will be through the summer before we get anyone online behind me. I don't know how accurate. Anyone confirm?

Currently awarding domicile transfers also which has not happened in a while. But it might just be for new hires.

Sounds promising. I got bored of waiting around though and opted for the EMB they said I could get in the July class. It was either that or fly a jet for eagle.. Hope I made the right choice.

That's what they are doing, and always have been. They only hire into the CRJ when growth exceeds bids out of the EMB.

As of right now no new hire classes until Sept. But that could all change pending many different things.

This June 30th class will be all upgrade and transition. No new hire.

You did. Seniority is everything, you'll be in the jet at SKW soon enough. For now, enjoy the EMB, most of the EMB pilots I talk to say it's a blast. And when you do transition, you'll have higher seniority than the people that waited for a jet class. Oh, and FAT is awesome!

I think most will say that you made the right move. It would be tough to argue that at this particular moment in time, there is not many regionals as stable as SkyWest. Of course that could all change at any time.
