Pinnacle Hiring

Just got an invite for an interview. The email lists dates for April and May for interview and classes, but nothing after that. Is Pinnacle going to slow hiring after May, or is the invite just for a small period of time that will eventually be updated? I would not be suprised if they slow, just curious as to what you guys over there are seeing! Thanks!

stp84 04-28-2008 10:26 AM

I have a may 12th class date and they said they are still running class dates every monday and said I can push mine back if I want. Seems like they are still hiring strong.

Just turned my resume into Pinnacle this past week. How long did it take for you to get a call to setup an interview? Im really wanting Pinnacle since I live in Memphis

saabguy493 04-28-2008 10:52 AM

I had gone online and filled out that quick survey and was left a voicemail within a week. After that, it took me a couple weeks to get ahold of them and I was invited to come to an interview and was sent an email with all the required stuff. From what I can see, paperwork is a VERY critical part of the interview process, so make sure you have everything and it is 110% correct!

stp84 04-28-2008 10:59 AM

yes dont mess up the paper work, its really not that bad though. after filling out paperwork for multiple airlines I would say Pinnacle is easier than the others. the interview is not bad and the test is easy just study the gouges.

I would highly recommend interviewing on May 1st. That way you can step outside and picket with us while you are waiting...;)

You guys are going to picket headquarters where they interview??

If an interview-ee goes inside to interview, would that not be considered kind of like crossing the picket line??

Oh man not good.

We are not on strike - yet. The May 1st picketing is informational picketing outside the corporate offices to draw attention to our cause. Therefore, if you really did have an interview on May 1st, going to the interview would not be an issue (although I don't see why anybody would want to come to Pinnacle at the moment)...

Just a question. If you're a SAAB guy why Pinnicle?

What are the chances of getting MEM based right now?

Pretty good.

To those that will be there on the 1st.... It is an informational picket. We are supporting our pilots and most have been at Pinnacle while the contract was amendable so we can't hold it against you, we can only warn you of the current situation. I will be there myself so maybe I can put some names with faces. ;) My last name is obvious and I will have a red lanyard on (I think there are only a few P2P guys in MEM).

How many of you applying have the ATPw already done? I still don't have mine and I am getting ready to start applying. Behind the curve I guess:o

I will be flying, I have heard some stories about the hotel and vehicles getting broken into or just flat out stolen. Do you know anyone else in the class? Where you coming from? I am in TX.

I just took the written yesterday and got a 90. I used sheppardair.com, they have a pretty good software system and it was only 75 bucks. Studied for about 4 or 5 days then took the exam and it turned out to be real easy. I just updated my app and resume and set it out to pretty much everybody, now just waiting on the calls/emails.

Wolf,

How about an interview later in the month? I was working on the end of May. Is this an "official informational" picket? Would it be preceived as a picket cross, i.e. scab. Not trying to split hairs just checking the facts.

I understand the many issues surrounding the airline right now but would still like to interview for the experience. Your thoughts please.

They won't interview you without your written done. I got a call with out it, but they said call back when I finished the written.

Airsupport 04-29-2008 02:15 PM

ok, i will help you all understand what is going on.

The pilots at pinnacle airlines, and others who support our cause, will be picketing infront of the company headquarters on May 1st. May 1st is the three year anniversary since our contract became amendable. We are letting management know that 3 years has been to long and we want a fair contract now.

FOR THOSE OF YOU COMING TO INTERVIEW ON MAY 1ST. Coming to the interview is in no way crossing a picket line, or being a scab, or anything like that. If you have decided that you are willing to take your chances on pinnacle then do what you need to do. We are not on strike yet. You are doing nothing wrong by coming and interviewing, or even getting hired. If that were true then everyone who has been hired here in the last three years would be in trouble. You just happen to be interviewing on the day we will be picketing.

So everyone relax. I will be their on may 1st to picket. if you have an interview on may 1st then go to the interview.

here is the good and the bad.

the hotel is close to the airport, good and bad.

the hotel is close to the company headquarters which is near the airport, good and bad.

cars being broken into in the parking lot. bad

being stuck at the hotel for 2 months during training with no transportation. bad

taking your car to training and not leaving anything in it to tempt the hoodlings so you have a way to get to beale street. good

if you drive a porsche or any other car like that i would not recommend bringing it to training. if you just drive an average joe car i would recommend bringing it to training, just dont leave anything in it to tempt the guys who are breaking in. i can tell you from seeing other people suffer that not having a car in training is pretty tough. you have to find rides from other guys to grocery store runs, wait on the hotel for rides to training, flight safety, airport, etc etc.

you have to decide if its best for you, but i would try my best to have a car there.

There WAS a rash of car breakins and thefts at the hotel, but the hotel has since beefed up overnight security, and as far as I know there have been no incidents recently. Just the same, don't leave anything inside that looks tempting (ipods, stereos, etc.)
