XJT Pilots-Contract

I heard his morning from a XJT Captain that XJT management is in "talks" with thr pilots to adjust some items in the agreement.

So it will be an easy transistion to SKW. Another offer already given behind closed doors.

Any other takies on this? Thanks?

XJT pilots should NOT respond to these topics in a public forum. Talk between the Pilots Union and Mgt. should be done in closed session and privately so as not to undermine the proccess. Guessing, speculating, and or posting of rumors and facts can cause people to form idea before facts can be presented. Not to mention that if you actually are involved in the proccess and have sign a nondisclosure agreement you would be hurting your own, not to mention the legal issues....

Lets not let people outside of XJT pilots, XJT Mgt, and SkyWest Mgt mess with a situation that can have both great results and negative results.

The facts are this: The union announced a special meeting at the request of mgmt because SKW mgmt requested to meet with the union. Anything else is rumor.

Touchy. APM145. You cant keep thousands of people quiet. They all talk a little. As my CA friend did. And I dont think it has ANY bearing on the outcome.

Obviously SKW wants a deal. And most likely have already offered one. So this is why XJT magt. is going to the pilots to talk it over with them. And most likely the pilot group will agree to change small wording in the contract to get this merger/buyout done.

Give it two weeks max.

There is a Memo Of Understanding that is supposed to be wrapped up that has NOTHING to do with Skywest. This were issues even before the rumor started.

The meeting is not until tomorrow. So no one has had any talks yet. Also, what JA wants is NOT to "change small wording in the contract." He wants the holding letter "revoked and deemed null and void."

Any changes to the contract have to be approved via a vote from the pilot group, there is no way around this. There's absolutely no way they can organize the process in two weeks, let alone announce a deal between the two companies.

Anyone with a little experience in the union world knows this. So much for 767 captain. Is amazing the stuff folks put on their profiles.

What timelines exists in XJT's current pilot labor contract for any mid term bargaining changes, from talks to ratification ?

What's the quickest something could be done if XJT ALPA agrees in principle to SkW's offer tomorrow ?

Well, if you follow our recent history, when the last LOA was presented, it was a process that took about 2 months to ratify.

I don't think any "timelines" exists. In the past, it takes time for management and the negotiating committee to come to terms on principle. Then the MEC has to approve it. Then it gets lawyered up with contract language put on paper. Then the MEC approves the final wording. Then it goes to ratification to the pilots while road shows are conducted at all the pilot bases by the MEC to help educate the pilots on the LOA.

Its usually not a very quick process.
