WOW, I hope that doesn't happen to anyone.

Well said.. Nobody should gain from another pilot's loss.

In this cyclical time of events, no matter who we work for, we should all be respectful of one another. We are all professionals and have a job to do! Also, you never know whose list we could get stapled to the bottom of!!! |
This is clearly unfortunate news IF IT IS TRUE. Pilots gossip more than Orange County housewives so everything has to be taken with a grain of salt. I don't care where we go as long as I have a job (and my fellow wholly-own pilots as well of course) and I'm not stuck on the bottom of seniority list waiting 15 years for upgrade.

The Announcement is supposed to be middle of this week......geeze....this could very well end up a blood bath :(

1If UAL and US Air merge it will be a mess. UAL will be the buyer and will keep the brand name... and Parker will run the company... Tilton will step down and get a huge payout. The buyer will not be tagged to the person who runs the company... mgmt changes hats/shirts/business cards all the time... no loyalty. Interesting to see what "actually" comes out of Wall Street... but whatever happens it will be bad for employees... no matter what uniform you wear.

If you read the latest web cast on the HUB (from yesterday I think) there are a few references to 50 seat flying at US Airways.
1) the only flying they CAN reduce is wholly owned. The others are under contract. 2) they are monitoring MESA very closely. And NOT renewing any of MESAs 50 seat flying. Sorry I cant copy and paste from the webcast but its nice to read. Considering the bleak financial picture for Mesa Air Group, will we be diversifying the Express operations out West? For example, using Piedmont to cover turboprop ops or PSA to help cover some of the RJ operations? We’re looking at every potential scenario should Mesa’s financial picture become unsustainable. Mesa did settle a lawsuit that had been a major concern for its finances; it also is meeting with Delta to discuss Delta’s announced intent to end its contract with Mesa. We have no idea at this point what Mesa intends to do, but VP-Express Dion Flannery says US Airways planners are looking at all kinds of contingencies. Mesa flies for us as US Airways Express from PHX and Charlotte. |
