Class date with Pinnalce 5/18
I have a read A LOT about Pinnacle on here but with my time, and after what PSA did to me, I don't have many choices left . . .
Anyways, I have a class date of 5/18. I have a million questions but and it appears I cant PM yet so i'll just ask a few here: Will my training be streamlined or am I going to have to wait a few weeks inbetween stages of training? (either for sim availability or after that for my OE) When will I be CASS eligible? How senior or junior are each base? Brief expectation for class or a heads up about what to expect in Memphis. Thanks, SR |
A search might help you out. I'm glad to see Pinnacle picked you up, they are known for giving folks second chances, or looking through unfair situations. I'm sure some of your fellow APC'ers will be able to help you out.

Well, I interviewed in January when minimums were pretty low for a lot of regionals. They made it sound like such a nice place to work and they strung me along to the point where I had my class date cancelled. My class was moved 3 times and finally they told me that I was in a hiring pool. Now, only a few airlines are hiring and most have higher minimums than they were posting 6 months ago . . .
Anyways, I will search for Pinnacle on the boards. Does anybody have updated seniority numbers for the bases? |

Thanks, SR It will be streamlined until you get to OE, you may wait up to a week to start (not a big deal). CASS after Sim checkride/LOFT MSP - most senior CA/FO ATL - quickly becoming just as senior for CA. New hires sent to ATL occassionally, but bidding for ATL after you are out of training is difficult to get awarded (still waiting) MEM - Not hard to get as an FO, but expect reserve for several*** months. CA can expect to get it after about 8 months of seniority DTW - Where everyone goes to get a decent schedule (most junior) and stay off of reserve May want to get as much information as possible on a/c systems, especially hydraulics, electrics (including avionics), and especially autopilot usage by the time you get to the sims. Feel free to PM me when you are able to do so. |

Well when I get off of reserve, maybe then it'll get a little better. Problem is that no one is leaving anymore (well, a LOT less than 1 month ago) and so I'm probably going to be on it for next month too. Tired of buying hotels, so I'll do CDO's only if I have to, but at this point I am going to have to do it since they keep cutting flight hours. Also a slew of MSP guys are coming down here soon so that'll put me even further onto the reserve list (my guess at least).

are you based in mem? main line added about 1500hrs to mem flying from msp. mesaba and compass are starting to do a lot of the flights an rj shouldn't. i know it is tough for my msp buds but our 50 seaters dont need to be doing the big legs. mem should have a lot of flying for june.

the long hauls. like msp to el paso, mem to bos, dtw to aus. just the stuff that is over 2 or 3 hours shouldn't be flown by an rj in my opinion.

I agree that these flights should be flown by mainline, but is that hurting 9E? Were they doing those flight before Mesaba and Compass? Is that the reason for the 9E cutbacks in MSP?
yeah we still do some of them but mesaba and compass have started doing the majority of them now on the 900 and 175. no its not hurting pinnacle though. everytime they take a flight from us we get a new one. like we are doing a mem to orf flight. and a mem to hartford. those are just as bad! there has been a decrease in flight hours in msp, but the amount they took has been moved to mem and dtw. so no lose and no gain. |

Compass: MEM-PHX, DTW-Monterry Mexico, MSP-BOS XJ: DTW-DFW, DTW-ORD, MSP-MSY 9E: MEM-BOS, IND-SAT, MSP-SAV Its just a sign of the times now, I am sure this goes on at every airline. Its all about how many people are going where, but in the case of DTW-ORD you could put 10 757's on that route and it would always be full |
