XJT Pilots Options?

Why is ream inviting another airline's management to IAH? And then letting the other airline's management talk directly to someone else's employee's?

Obviously there is an agreement between the two.

but the real question is, "what are the options?"

I dont think ream needs the blesssing of the pilot group. Or does He?

If Skyw buys XJT, and run it separately, there is no merger. So can't Skyw just go that route? And the pilots save there jobs and contract flying for CAL.

Confused-

What's confusing...they buy us and 69 jets are immediately parked (the ones not flying for CAL). 69 = 690 Furloughed. Or lets say they decide to keep Delta ops running, then 450 furloughed. Branded is toast no matter what.

We go on our own and still probably close Branded because of fuel prices = 450 furloughed.

Or we go on our own as is and go out of business because we will run out of money in about 11 months = 2882 pilots laid off. No good options here...waiting for some good news from an unexpected place.

Ream probably was tired of the CAL/SKW management B.S. and wanted the CEO over at Skywest to just try. Ream would rather us stay separate and under his direction. He has done his best to save jobs so far, he could've have folded and furloughed if he didn't care for his own.

If Skywest management just went ahead and bought us, they would have to abide by our contract. It would force a merger to prevent any whipsawing. If the pilots at SKW, ASA, and XJT aren't under one list than this deal should never happen. Look at RAH, at least those guys got that right. Skywest management wants our scope contract out, and based on their "offer" to us, you can see why we have it.

Of course we would close Branded before it got to that, so I'm not worried about bleeding to death to keep Branded open. Plus it sounds like our numbers for this summer will be pretty good, so its a wait and see how that goes.

Its all about gas...with $50 fuel, our critics would be eating crow right now. We've simply been screwed by factors outside of our control (and outside of our management's control). Like I said, we've had so much bad news, we're probably due for some good news from somewhere.

Preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best.

It really is a killer that fuel is so high, if for no reason other than XJet really would have shown everybody that a Regional could kick some serious tail with their own branded flying and a fantastic product...:(
