Why shouldn't anyone work for AWAC? I have been for about 2 years... should I leave? Is there something terrible I am unaware of?

oh that's right we have one of the best contracts in the industry... I better get my resume out!

Yes we are still hiring about 15 a month.

Roper92 05-19-2008 06:14 AM

No. The dude was saying that he doesn't work for them. We all know AWAC rocks.

I understand RDU is a new base. How big and how senior is it?

Flitestar 05-19-2008 07:15 AM

I heard RDU is not that hard to get...but this was about 3 weeks ago...any more recent input will be appreciated!

on a side note, any updates on their real minimums to be competitive?

Cheers!
FS

In my opinion to be most competitive you need an employee referral.

RDU is slightly more senior than LGA, but it is still understaffed. Holding RDU should not be a problem for any newbie. I'm not sure how big the base is, but I know it is our smallest one.

The last I checked there are 26 FO's in RDU. I am #13 out of 28 in LGA and 23 of 26 in RDU next month to give you an idea of seniority of the bases. I've spoken with management about hiring and it sounds like previous 121 experience, or at least turbine is a big plus to be competitive now. I'm recommending a few lower time friends, but it's not looking good. My $.02

Raleigh's the new Norfolk. I'm just happy I'm based there. Way better to be on reserve there than have a line in LGA.

gtippin 05-19-2008 02:02 PM

Have you guys heard anything about new class dates. There are several of us that I have talked that are in the pool. I was told maybe June
Thanks for the input

I think I disagree with this statement. I have a line in LGA starting in July and would rather do that than sit reserve in RDU... then again I do bid #3 in LGA.

saab2000 05-19-2008 03:31 PM

I will be #18 of 35 lineholders in RDU. Folks who bid there beware!!!

RDU sucks, go back to DCA ;). (just trust me)
