ORD/MKE Domicle @SKW

What do you SKWers think the chances of getting ORD or MKE as a newhire are right now on the CRJ? Thanks in advance.

Junior Bases

If you get hired into the RJ, then you'll get one of them for sure.

Thanks for the response. Has the company told you all where the new 22 airplanes are going?

I thought they were going to trickle into the United system as the EMBs come offline. I'd guess that plan will be changing, though. (Reference fuel prices and United's reduction announcement.)

From what I have been told, the hiring spurt this month has nothing to do with those phantom erjs but has more to do with the coming 22 crjs and the fact that we won't be losing as many embs as we thought.

Four of the planes are CRJ-900's.... for Delta.

The remaining 18 next gen -700's are for the SoCal UAL market, originally planned to replace the EMB's (before fuel doubled).

Who knows where you will end up as a newhire today. I am trying to get in to ORD/MKE and I have been here for 14 months and having no luck!

You can have my spot as soon as I can hold a line in Portland!

Exactly what I was getting at. I haven't heard any announcements to the contrary, but it wouldn't surprise me if those plans have lost their economic viability.

I can't stay young forever, but I can always dream of being Stringfellow Hawke! (I love how he plays that cello in the mountains on the intro..... they really knew how to cheese it up back then.)
