Is ASA Hiring?

Damn this 9E news. I don't wanna go back to DTW. Not saying I'm gonna jump ship, but I'm just thinking of options just in case..

So is ASA hiring? And if they are, how much?

Can't you just go to the CRJ200 out of DTW/MEM/MSP? I don't work for ASA, but I think they are hiring into a pool?!?

We are not hiring and will not for the near future. Word in recurrent ground this week was we are staffed for the summer and may be overstaffed in the fall. COLA anybody???

Be careful about jumping ship everytime there is bad news at your carrier. If you do that, you will never have any seniority anywhere and will always be at the bottom. In the few years I have been here at Comair, I could have jumped ship several times and went elsewhere only to be at the bottom of someone else's list and in furlough territory. From "right sizing" CVG to the bankruptcy to the RFP to losing 30+ aircraft to emerging from bankruptcy to still losing aircraft and on and on.

Stick it out. This isn't going to be the last time there is bad news at your airline during your career.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Skywest and Comair about the only regionals hiring right now? Last I heard not even RAH was hiring? I'm not sure.

I know APC shows each airline's hiring status under the carrier's description but maybe they should have a page that lists all the carriers known to be currently hiring/taking applications. That would help some people out when it came time to job hunt. Just an idea.

Tell him to just show up for class on Monday. He can tell them that usually no news is good news and his schedule was clear to start training next week.

SKW is interviewing all month, but ATL isn't a junior base. Historically (kind of a funny term considering the base hasn't been around that long) it would take a new hire about 8 months to get into ATL. FWIW
