Default Number to list for airtran jumpseat

Anybody know the number to call to list on Airtran flights?

Never ridden on them, how do they treat jumpseaters? I thought I heard they charge the 2nd offline jumpseater on thier flights.

AirTran has alway's treated me awesome. They used to charge for non-company jumpseaters but it was optional for the gate. It was pretty much up to them if they wanted to charge. IIRC it was like $25 or something. I havn't rode them in a while but from what I remember I think the fee all together was taken away, believe it or not. It's a great option when Delta is alway's full, and they treat nonrevs great.

I wouldn't imagine that you could call a number and list for the jumpseat as an employee could. I alway's just showed up at the gate 45-60 mins ahead of departure and filled out the JS form and never had any problems.

Yea they're great! I never had to fill any form to JS. The agents just typed some stuff in really quick and i was good to go.

Absolutely awesome to ride on. No fee for 2nd or later j'ser. Gate agents and crews are very friendly. Show up at the gate and fill out the form, no way to list in advance for OAL.

I rode as a jumpseater on AirTran on the way back home from Thanksgiving and I agree: They are awesome. Treated me great...highly recommended.

The fee is long since dead, and I agree, they treat jumpseaters extremely well...

Thanks for the quick reply. I've had a few gate agents at Midwest who say they prefer me to call ahead and get my name on the list, but I'd rather not mess with it if I don't have to.

Good to hear about the fee!!

A little story about the "fee"....

I once had an Air Tran gate agent give me smack for not calling ahead and listing. I apologized and asked for the number. (Like everybody who's commented above, I never listed before and never had a problem.)

Skip ahead a few days: For my return flight home, I called and listed. When I checked in with the gate agent, they said there would be a $25 fee for listing ahead of time. The agent was very friendly and apologized about the fee - but she couldn't do anything about it. I had to call the reservations number again and have them cancel the listing to avoid the fee.

Moral of the story: don't call and list. Just show up! (But apparently everybody else already knew that.)

Overall, my experiences with jumping on Air Tran have been very good. Great bunch of folks and a class act! I haven't seen that rouge gate agent since, so I haven't had a chance to inquire with her about my experience....

Were they wearing too much makeup or is calling somebody red in french an insult I'm not privy to?

+1 on AAI. Ride on them often, and they have always treated me great, way better than my own brand. I've never been charged.

The gouge above is correct. Don't bother to call ahead, just show up at the gate and play dumb about how you knew nothing about listing. Ask for the info and promise to do it next time... (NOT).
