I cant imagine it is because they are slowing down because if that was the reason, they wouldnt even interview! Right?

Well they interviewed 40 for 8 slots. I think a bit of overkill, but at least I got my opportunity to interview.

what would you say they are looking for in a pilot?

If I knew that, I'd be going to class March 15. Chuck Colgan said they are looking for people that can be captains. They don't want you to have to learn the IFR system, IFR flying, Multi-Engine flying, or Crew flying while you are in the right seat. He said they are looking for people who will get the required time and move up.
