It does not do alot of good to count the numbers now. It is just going to get bigger I am afraid.

Should change gears and try to find a way to find something postive, well anything than counting furloughs.

But not to discount your post, it is an indicator of how bad things are shapping up for the rest of this year.

Reeves I hear you, I am not trying to be negative I am just upset that things can go to crap in such as short time, if I can remember 18 months ago all you needed at some regionals was a wet commercial and a pulse oh how things have changed...

I think it was less than 6 months ago.

The 70 at FLOPS weren't furloughs, they were TERMINATIONS....out of seniority and of many pilots who were involved in the union drive.

Not to pick on you, but you haven't been around the airline business long have you,? Might I suggest you read "Flying the Line, Vol. I, II, and III." Also a good one is "Hard Landings." Ever since De-Regulation, pilots have shown up for work to find airlines shut down, doors locked, planes repossessed, and paychecks bouncing. It's the nature of the game and we are but grist for the mill. The best defense is to be optomistic but plan for the worst.

and what's scary, is the 4000 doesn't include all the guys from ATA, aloha, etc....i think it was listed at a minimum of 1000 furloughs from the ATA guys alone....i also have a feeling things are going to get worse, i'd expect to see more problems over here at trans states in the future, maybe chautauqua, and eagle also given the mess we're all going through with american....dark clouds ahead.
